About this role:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for building and executing talent acquisition strategies designed to identify, engage and recruit top talent necessary for ConnectOne Bank to achieve its business objectives and key results. The incumbent leverages a deep understanding of business needs and market dynamics to develop talent engagement strategies that drive brand awareness and enhanced visibility.


In this role you will:

  • Support the Bank’s “People First” focus and rules of engagement—maintaining a professional demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing clients excellent service, always striving to make CNOB “A Better Place to Be.”
  • Establishes recruiting strategy to meet staffing needs by determining job requirements for open positions by working with hiring managers.
  • Leverage technology, tools and innovative methodologies to identify, assess, sell and present candidates for open requisitions.
  • Develop robust sourcing strategies that feed critical talent pipelines flowing into the CNOB talent community. Reduce cycle time for future requisitions by ensuring structured talent pipelines contain profiles that meet the CNOB definition of success.
  • Serve as a CNOB employment brand ambassador, presenting a clear articulation of the CNOB employment value proposition during the talent engagement process.
  • Serve as a talent sourcing subject matter expert; deliver recommendations regarding innovative and effective talent sourcing tools and best practices to be piloted and/or deployed.

Must haves:

  • Strong “People First” interest and ability.
  • Knowledge of employment and labor laws including but not limited to EEOC, ADEA, ERISA, NLRB, ADA, FMLA and FLSA laws.
  • Three plus years of full lifecycle recruiting experience, including candidate sourcing, pre-qualification screening and interviewing.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Presence, confidence, and communications skills that assure effective participation at all levels of an organization.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience proactively networking and establishing effective working relationships.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools.
