About us

Spore.Bio is a deeptech startup born in 2023, building a new paradigm in quality control systems for Food & Beverage, Cosmetics, and Pharmaceutical factories. After spending a lot of time in factory environments, we saw the pain it was to make sure products were safe. Traditional quality control has heavy constraints and long waiting times. To change that, we decided to build Spore.Bio, a new generation of microbiological testing. Our team is dedicated to developing a cutting-edge solution, based on advanced photonic and deep-learning technologies, to detect bacterial contamination within minutes.

About the role

At Spore.Bio, we believe talent is our most precious asset. With an objective to hire 50+ people in the coming months, we need someone exceptional to work with our Talent Acquisition Manager, and scale how we attract, identify, and close top talent across hardware, microbiology, software, and AI.

As our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be instrumental in our growth, helping us build a world-class team globally. You will work on the entire hiring process from sourcing to onboarding, reporting directly to our Talent Acquisition Manager.
This is a high-impact role where you will shape recruiting as a strategic function, not just an operational one.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Recruiting
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for a portfolio of roles across hardware engineering, microbiology, AI/ML, software, and operations.

  • Learn what sets the bar for top talent in each domain and help maintain Spore.Bio’s high hiring standards.

  • Proactively source and engage technical talent in France and internationally.

  • Deliver a smooth, responsive, and engaging experience to every candidate you interact with.

Sourcing & Talent Attraction
  • Run sourcing campaigns using LinkedIn Recruiter, direct outreach, referrals, and events to build strong, diverse pipelines.

  • Write compelling job ads and personalized outreach messages that make candidates want to learn more.

  • Keep our Applicant Tracking System (Team Tailor) up to date to ensure clean data and efficient processes.

  • Contribute to relationships with universities, engineering schools, and scientific associations, and represent Spore.Bio at school and industry events.

Candidate Experience
  • Be the main point of contact for candidates throughout the process: scheduling, updates, feedback, and offer coordination.

  • Make sure every candidate gets timely, transparent communication, whatever the outcome.

  • Collect candidate feedback and suggest improvements to the hiring journey.

Internal Partnership & Process
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand their needs, align on profiles, and run effective intake meetings.

  • Use scorecards and interview grids consistently and help hiring managers write structured feedback.

  • Track and share key hiring metrics (pipeline status, time-to-hire, source effectiveness) with the team.

  • Support the Marketing team on employer branding initiatives (content, events, careers page).

About you

  • 2–3 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, ideally in a startup, deeptech, or tech environment (in-house or agency).

  • Hands-on full-cycle recruiting experience, from sourcing to offer.

  • Experience or strong interest in technical recruiting: you enjoy hiring engineers, scientists, or technical specialists, and you’re not afraid of complex profiles.

  • Strong sourcing skills: you know how to find people who aren’t actively looking, and how to get them interested.

  • Organized and data-aware: you keep your pipelines and ATS clean and use metrics to prioritize your work.

  • Bilingual French & English: fluent in both, written and spoken, to work across our international team.

  • Excellent communication: you write clear, engaging messages and build trust quickly with candidates and hiring managers.

Soft Skills & Mindset

  • Proactive and execution-oriented: you own your roles and move things forward without waiting to be asked.

  • Curious about tech and science: you’re happy to learn what a microbiologist or an ML engineer actually does day to day.

  • Team player: you work well with hiring managers and founders, and you aren’t afraid to share your opinion on a candidate.

  • Adaptable: you’re comfortable with changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

We don’t expect you to know everything from day one. What matters most is your drive, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to dive into challenges.

Why join us?

  • Work at the frontier of deeptech, photonics, and AI applied to real-world industrial problems.

  • Play a key role in building the team of a fast-scaling company.

  • Collaborate with exceptional scientists and engineers.

  • Evolve in a collaborative, ambitious, and stimulating work environment.

  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous growth, with room to take on more scope as the company grows.

What we offer

We believe that flexibility and trust are important parts of a company. Our work environment reflects this:

  • Flexible remote: if you live in Paris, you can work from our office or from home with no constraints.

  • Remote work equipment: a dedicated budget to set up your workspace.

  • Gymlib subscription to stay in shape wherever you are.

  • Premium health insurance (Alan) for comprehensive coverage.

  • Swile card for your meals, if you are based in France.

Recruitment process

  1. Discovery call (30 min): A conversation with Marlène, our Talent Acquisition Manager to get to know each other. We'll discuss your background, motivations, and what you're looking for. It's also your chance to ask anything about Spore.Bio and the role.

  2. Culture fit interview (45 min): A conversation with Mohamed, our co-founder and COO, about Spore.Bio’s culture, and how we work. It’s a chance for both sides to see whether we’re the right match.

  3. Case study (take-home + 1h debrief): A practical scenario reflecting the kind of challenges you'd face: sourcing strategy, process design, or candidate assessment. We care about your reasoning, not textbook answers.

  4. Founders interview (1 hour) + Lab Visit: A conversation with our founders about vision.
This is as much for you as it is for us.

  5. Reference calls: A quick chat with one or two people you've worked with before.
