Tax Manager – Tax Advisory
Boutique Tax Firm | Dublin | Fully Remote | Up to €100k
Ready to move beyond compliance and focus on the more interesting side of tax?
We’re working with a highly regarded boutique tax advisory firm in Dublin that is looking to appoint an established Tax Manager to its growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys solving complex problems, researching technical issues and delivering commercially focused advice to clients.
With a pure advisory focus, a genuinely flexible working environment and no requirement to attend an office, this role offers a different way to build your career in tax.
The Opportunity
You’ll work on a varied portfolio of advisory assignments, supporting large companies, entrepreneurs, family businesses, investors and high-net-worth individuals.
The work goes far beyond traditional private client tax, with exposure to complex and commercially significant matters, including:
- Business succession planning – advising on ownership transitions and family business succession.
- Shareholder exit planning – supporting business owners through exits, disposals and restructurings.
- Capital taxes – CGT, CAT, retirement relief, business relief and wealth preservation.
- Corporate transactions & tax planning – restructurings, M&A, MBOs and share transactions.
- Revenue audits, interventions & appeals – managing complex tax matters and client engagements.
- Broader tax advisory – working across a variety of tax issues, clients and industries.
The portfolio includes recurring client relationships, but the assignments themselves are continually varied and intellectually challenging.
What Makes This Role Different?
- 100% remote working – no requirement to commute or attend an office.
- Genuine flexibility – a sensible working environment with typical hours of 9am–5pm.
- No billing or utilisation targets – focus on delivering excellent advice, not chasing timesheets or personal billing targets.
- Predominantly advisory work – approximately 95% advisory, with very limited compliance.
- Direct client exposure – work closely with clients, intermediaries and senior tax professionals.
- Small, experienced team – a flat structure where your contribution genuinely matters.
- Professional development – support for CPD, further education and continued technical development.
- Competitive package – salary commensurate with experience, with scope up to €100k.
Who Are We Looking For?
This opportunity would suit an established Tax Manager or an experienced tax professional ready to step into a Manager position.
You’ll ideally have:
- CTA / AITI qualification, with an accountancy qualification or Irish Tax Institute qualification.
- Strong technical knowledge, particularly across capital taxes and private client advisory.
- Experience delivering tax advisory assignments within a professional practice environment.
- A background in advisory work, ideally with exposure to complex planning matters.
- Excellent research, analytical and technical writing skills.
- The confidence to interpret legislation, develop solutions and clearly articulate your advice.
- Strong client communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
This is not a newly qualified opportunity.
The firm is looking for someone established, technically capable and comfortable taking ownership of challenging advisory assignments.
Interested?
If you’re currently working in a larger practice and feel you’d enjoy a more flexible environment, broader advisory exposure and greater autonomy, this could be an excellent next move.
