Teaching Assistants play a key role in supporting classroom educators post-training and throughout their teaching journey.

Role Description The Teaching Assistant role at Andrew Teaches Coding is a full-time hybrid position based in Lagos, combining on-site classroom support with some work-from-home responsibilities. Day-to-day tasks include assisting classroom teachers during coding lessons, helping learners understand programming concepts, and guiding them through interactive workbook activities. The Teaching Assistant will support

1. Micro teaching
2. Delivery strategy
3. Learning materials Implementation and
4. One-on-one or small-group assistance to teachers who need extra help perfecting their delivery.

The role also involves monitoring lesson completion progress by teachers, giving constructive feedback, and communicating with educators directly. Additional responsibilities may include light administrative tasks, updating student records, and contributing ideas to improve teaching resources and classroom engagement.

This role operates within our education unit, but from within classrooms of our educators. In this role you not required to do any teaching to learners directly. It is purely driven by observation, strategy and feedback.

Qualifications

• Strong Assistant Teaching and Education skills to support classroom instruction and facilitate effective learning.
• Clear and empathetic Communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
• Comfortable with Teaching science for early-years and primary level education.
• Experience Working With Children and young learners, creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing time and responsibilities between on-site and remote tasks.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail for updating log records on educators, tracking progress, and maintaining materials.
• Minimum of a diploma or degree in Education is required.
