We were early to the fight against Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance, and we’ve been pushing the edge ever since.
Our mission is to help government and enterprise organizations understand and manage commercial data risks, shape their digital signatures, and operate with confidence in an increasingly complex information landscape. We build and integrate advanced, tech-forward solutions to problems our customers often don’t know they have – until it matters most.
We move fast, think critically, and deliver where it counts.
What’s in it for you?
We work hard and do fun things.
You’ll work on high-impact, technically challenging problems alongside a team that values teamwork over competition. Veilant offers a solid work-life balance and flexible remote work options. At Veilant, you’ll work with the most talented software developers, systems engineers, and subject matter experts, building tools and systems that make a real difference.
Why This Role Exists
A device, an application, or an everyday digital habit can create exposure that affects a mission. Veilant’s training programs help customers understand those risks and make more informed decisions in operational environments.
As a Technical Training Advisor, you will help design, deliver, and improve Veilant’s training programs for DoW, Intelligence Community, and cleared contractor audiences. You will connect technical concepts to practical decisions, helping students understand Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance, or UTS, and apply ways to reduce digital exposure.
The Work
- Deliver practical instruction on digital signature management, secure communications, device exposure, network risk, operational technology use, and emerging threats.
- Support courses covering risk management, digital signature awareness, operational applications, mission planning, and capstone exercises.
- Support instruction that may cover secure travel communications, virtual machines, secure open source research, smart cameras, packet capture, artificial intelligence, mesh communications, and other customer needs.
- Develop and update Programs of Instruction, student and instructor guides, technical labs, scenarios, and practical exercises alongside subject matter experts.
- Help students and customers assess digital exposure across devices, applications, networks, communications, and operational environments. Translate complex concepts into guidance they can use.
- Support classroom and field training, contribute lessons learned and course improvements, and stay current on technologies and adversary methods that affect the training.
What Success Looks Like
- Students can connect technical concepts to the exposure risks and decisions they encounter in their work.
- Instruction and demonstrations are clear and useful to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Training materials and practical exercises reflect current technologies, customer needs, and lessons from course delivery.
- You work effectively with instructors, subject matter experts, program teams, and customers to address questions and strengthen the training.
What You Need
- Active Top Secret clearance, minimum.
- 2+ years of professional experience in technical training, technical advising, operations support, technology consulting, mission support, or a related field.
- Experience delivering instruction, briefings, demonstrations, or technical guidance to technical and nontechnical audiences. You can explain what you taught or advised on and how you made it understandable.
- Experience supporting customers in at least one of these communities: DoW, Intelligence Community, Federal Law Enforcement, or cleared contractors.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to contribute to training materials, technical documentation, student guides, and course feedback.
- The ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, instructors, program teams, and customer stakeholders while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and adaptability as needs change.
- Comfort working directly with technology in labs, field exercises, and learning scenarios.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10 to 25 percent within the continental United States, with potential assignments outside the continental United States.[AA1]
What Would Make You Stand Out
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Military, intelligence, law enforcement, or operational experience, including support for overseas technical programs or field environments.
- Military or Intelligence Community experience in roles such as SIGINT collector or analyst, cyber operations specialist or cyber analyst, tactical communications specialist, radio operator, network or systems operator, or all-source intelligence analyst. Relevant backgrounds may include Army 35-series, 17-series, or 25-series MOSs, or comparable roles in other services or intelligence agencies.
- Experience developing tactics, techniques, and procedures, Programs of Instruction, lesson plans, technical labs, or practical exercises.
- Experience with digital signature management, managed attribution, secure communications, open source research, mobile device security, network analysis, packet capture, virtual machines, artificial intelligence tools, or commercial data risk.
- Training or certifications in cybersecurity, information technology, tactical communications, electronic warfare, signals intelligence, human intelligence, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, technical analysis, networking, cloud, mobile devices, or related areas.
- Experience coordinating across organizations, working groups, or customer teams.
If you meet the core requirements but do not bring everything in this section, we still want to hear from you.
This Role May Not Be For You If
You prefer a role centered on presenting established material with little involvement in labs, field exercises, customer questions, or course development. This work calls for direct technical engagement, collaboration, travel, and continued learning as technologies and customer needs evolve.
Why This Work Matters
The training you help deliver informs how customers prepare, communicate, travel, and operate. Your contribution helps students recognize digital exposure and apply practical ways to reduce risk in environments where those decisions matter.
Why This Work Matters
Technology only creates value when customers can actually use it.
You will help make sure Veilant solutions work where our customers need them, while bringing lessons from the field back into the company so we can continue improving how we build, deliver, and support our technology.
What Happens After You Apply
Our recruiting team will walk you through the role, the customer environment, the team, and what to expect from the interview process.
You will also have time to ask questions about the technology, field expectations, deployment requirements, and what success looks like so you can decide whether the opportunity is right for you.

Actual compensation within this range at Veilant is determined by numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, including experience, education, certifications, technical skills, as well as contract-specific affordability and labor categories, the scope and responsibilities of the role, market and business considerations, and geographic location.
