At New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), our purpose is to grow companies internationally - bigger, better and faster - for the good of New Zealand.
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to strengthen the systems, processes and customer data that support New Zealand businesses to grow internationally.
What you’ll be doing
This hands-on role sits at the intersection of business processes, CRM, customer data and digital products.
You’ll be a go-to specialist for translating business needs, as it relates to our Customer Way operating model, into clear process, system and data requirements.
You’ll:
- Translate business needs and processes into clear business, system and data requirements.
- Investigate CRM and customer-data issues, identify patterns and determine root causes.
- Ensure customer data is understood, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Establish and coordinate a customer-data quality programme with Digital & Data and other teams.
- Assess the impact of CRM and system changes on processes, data, integrations, reporting, controls and users.
- Support solution design, testing and business acceptance to ensure changes deliver the intended outcomes.
- Bring business and technical teams together to solve complex problems, clarify ownership and improve systems and data.
What you’ll need
You’ll be comfortable engaging stakeholders and working in detail across systems, processes and data.
We’re looking for:
- Strong business and process analysis experience, translating needs into system, data and functional requirements.
- Strong technical literacy and systems thinking, including data flows, integrations, dependencies and reporting impacts.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience identifying the root causes of data and system issues.
- Practical experience with CRM platforms and customer-data structures.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse or a comparable enterprise CRM platform.
- Experience in data quality, stewardship or governance.
- Ability to define clear business rules, data definitions, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Confidence working across business, Product and Digital & Data teams, navigating ambiguity and constructively challenging when needed.
- Familiarity with data-querying, profiling or analysis tools; software development experience is not required.
- Experience supporting digital product delivery, system testing or AI-enabled initiatives would be an advantage.
