About the Role
The Technical Buyer supports data center construction projects by managing the sourcing, commercial evaluation, and purchasing of critical equipment and materials. Working closely with engineering, project management, finance, and logistics, this role takes procurement packages from approved scope to purchase order and supplier handoff — ensuring every order is competitively sourced, commercially sound, and tracked through to delivery.
This is a role for a practical, organised buyer who can move fast without losing control of the details.
Why Join Us?
Work on data center construction, one of the fastest-growing segments in capital projects
Source the critical equipment that keeps data centres running — where every order has a direct impact on project schedules
Own your packages end to end, not just one step of the process
Help shape a procurement process that is being standardized as the portfolio grows
Work with engineering, project and finance teams in an international environment
Key Responsibilities
Manage assigned procurement packages from approved scope through vendor award, purchase order and handoff to Logistics
Issue RFIs, RFQs and RFPs, and source and qualify suppliers to keep competitive coverage
Prepare clear bid comparisons covering price, freight, lead time, payment terms, warranty and deviations
Negotiate commercial terms within delegated authority, escalating where needed
Confirm Engineering has signed off technical compliance before recommending an award
Prepare approval packages and create purchase orders in the ERP (NetSuite)
Coordinate vendor onboarding and obtain supplier acknowledgement of each purchase order
Track production milestones and delivery dates, and escalate delays, substitutions or cost changes early
Keep procurement trackers and files up to date and support invoice validation
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
3+ years in purchasing, procurement, sourcing or supply chain, ideally in construction, manufacturing or industrial projects
Hands-on experience issuing RFQs, preparing bid comparisons and negotiating commercial terms
Ability to manage several packages, suppliers and deadlines at the same time
Strong attention to detail on specifications, quantities, pricing, lead times and documentation
Confident communicator with suppliers and internal teams, who escalates risks early
Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft 365 tools
Fluent English, spoken and written
Preferred Skills
Experience in data center, mission-critical or large capital projects
Experience buying long-lead electrical or mechanical equipment (transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units)
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)
Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping and customs terms
We recognize that great buyers come from a variety of backgrounds. If you don't tick every box but have solid procurement experience and enjoy owning a deal from quote to delivery, we encourage you to apply.
What We Offer
Attractive compensation package aligned with experience and expertise
International project exposure and travel opportunities.
Professional development, technical training, and career growth pathways.
Supportive, collaborative, and innovative work environment.
Ready for Your Next Challenge?
If you're a disciplined buyer who likes to keep suppliers, numbers and deadlines under control, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help deliver the equipment behind the next generation of data centers.
