Technical Co-founder / Founding Tech Lead

The opportunity

Work directly with founders to discover and build businesses around valuable customer problems and unique data.

We’ll explore several propositions within an existing business network, select and build towards product–market fit. This is an opportunity to shape the problem, product, technology, and business from the beginning.

Our conviction: data is the ultimate anti-commodity. As AI makes software easier to produce, the advantage lies increasingly in data that is difficult to obtain, valuable to customers, and improved through use.

We want someone who can turn that conviction into a working business and challenge it where it doesn’t hold.

What you’ll do

• Work with customers to understand their problems, existing workflows, and willingness to pay.

• Test propositions quickly and help decide which two deserve our commitment.

• Personally build and ship prototypes, MVPs, and early production products.

• Use AI extensively while taking responsibility for code quality and technical decisions.

• Own architecture, infrastructure, integrations, security, and data foundations.

• Design how data is acquired, permissioned, structured, evaluated, and improved through product use.

• Measure customer outcomes and make clear decisions about what to build, change, or stop.

Don’t expect a product owner to write your backlog. Discovering what matters and deciding what to do next are part of your role.

What you bring

• Evidence of shipping: You have personally built and operated software used by real customers.

• Hands-on technical depth: You can take a product from an unclear problem to a working application, including its backend, infrastructure, and data.

• AI-native working habits: AI is embedded in how you build. You know when to trust its output, test it, or replace it.

• Customer and commercial judgment: You care who will pay, what outcome they need, and whether the economics work.

• Production ownership: You can explain how you have handled reliability, security, sensitive data, and technical trade-offs.

• Founder initiative: You move without detailed instructions, communicate directly, and take responsibility for outcomes.

• Ambition with focus: You think globally, ship quickly, and know when to abandon an idea.

Previous founder or early startup experience is welcome. Demonstrated ownership matters more than your title, degree, or years of experience.

How we’ll work together

You must be based in Europe and able to work together in the Netherlands regularly. We’ll combine remote work with in-person sessions.

We’ll begin alongside our current activities, with a consistent weekly commitment agreed before starting. The intention is to deepen that commitment as customer evidence and product–market fit develop.

Angelique brings company-building experience, commercial leadership, customer access, and a network spanning European businesses and leading AI labs. You’ll lead the technical work and share responsibility for customer discovery, product direction, and proposition selection.

Equity and compensation

Initial remuneration is milestone-based equity for every business opportunity, with the ownership structure, milestones, responsibilities, and vesting terms agreed together before work begins.

Cash compensation will begin once revenue of a business opportunity supports it. This opportunity suits someone seeking founding ownership who can start without an immediate salary.

Shortlisted applicants will have a conversation with Angelique, followed by a discussion of something they have built and how they approach customer and technical decisions.

NOTE

At 10x, there are two types of opportunities (inhouse-jobs at 10x excluded):

1. Traditional freelance missions
These are regular project-based opportunities where the listed mission is the actual project you may work on.

2. AI Lab roles to get access to the 10x platform
For AI Lab roles, we scout, review, and approve profiles for access to future project opportunities and once approved you will get access to the 10x platform.

The missions listed for AI Lab roles are not traditional job openings. AI Lab work is often highly confidential as this exposes information of what an AI Lab is working on, and project requests are unpredictable. When an AI Lab request comes in, we often need to respond within 24 hours with suitable talent.

Matching depends on the specific needs of each AI Lab project and your niche expertise. Once your profile is reviewed and approved, you may be matched to relevant AI Lab projects when suitable opportunities arise.

This can happen within hours, but it may also take months, depending on the researchers at the AI labs and their project needs.
