PROJECT

Join an international technology environment focused on maintaining and improving enterprise batch processing systems running on IBM Mainframe.

We are looking for a Technical Lead – Batch Management with strong expertise in IBM z/OS, JCL, and IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) to ensure the stability, availability, and reliability of critical batch operations.

The role combines hands-on technical expertise, operational ownership, and team coordination, with a strong focus on automation, incident management, and continuous service improvement.

YOU WILL

• Ensure the stability, availability, and reliability of batch processing services and supporting infrastructure.
• Oversee the creation, modification, scheduling, and execution of daily, monthly, yearly, and business-critical batch processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve batch processing failures, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Act as a Technical Lead, coordinating team activities, delegating tasks, sharing knowledge, and supporting team development.
• Manage critical end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year processing activities.
• Drive improvements in batch automation, monitoring, system performance, and operational efficiency.
• Implement infrastructure changes with a focus on automation, security, resilience, and service availability.
• Ensure compliance with IT Service Management standards, SLAs, and internal controls.
• Participate in incident and change management processes, identifying risks and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Manage certificate renewals and IBM Dynamic Workload Console.
• Collaborate with international engineering and operations teams to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
• Coordinate and participate in the on-call rota, ensuring effective support for critical batch operations.

MUST HAVE

• Strong hands-on knowledge of JCL and IBM z/OS Mainframe environments.
• Solid experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS).
• Deep understanding of batch processing, job scheduling, and troubleshooting batch failures.
• Experience managing business-critical batch operations, including end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year processing.
• Basic knowledge of Horizont IWS Graph, BatchCP, BatchAD, and XINFO.
• Good understanding of Incident Management, Change Management, and SLAs.
• Ability to coordinate technical activities, delegate tasks, and support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Experience driving operational improvements and implementing technical solutions.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability and willingness to participate in and coordinate an on-call rota.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in an international environment.
• Very good English, both written and spoken.

NICE TO HAVE

• Previous experience as a Technical Lead or Operations Lead.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of German.
• Strong analytical and solution-oriented approach.
