Denmark | Copenhagen / Customer-Facing Territory Role
Take ownership of developing the Danish Data Centre cooling market with the backing of an established international HVAC and thermal-management manufacturer.
One of the strongest aspects of this opportunity is the breadth of technology you can offer customers.
Rather than being limited to one cooling product or technology, you will be able to work across a much broader thermal-management portfolio - from central cooling plant and chillers, through data-hall and air-side cooling, to advanced liquid cooling and CDU solutions for high-density computing environments.
For a technically credible salesperson, that creates the opportunity to have a much broader conversation with Data Centre customers, understand their overall cooling requirements and develop the most appropriate solution.
The opportunity
The business is strengthening its direct sales and service presence in Denmark and developing its local Data Centre capability. You will take responsibility for growing equipment sales across the Danish market, with particular focus on colocation and enterprise Data Centre customers.
This is not simply an account management role.
You will be expected to develop the territory, identify new opportunities and build customer relationships, while also growing business with existing accounts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and developing new Data Centre cooling opportunities.
- Building relationships with new and existing customers across Denmark.
- Creating a strong sales pipeline and opening new accounts.
- Understanding customer technical requirements and recommending appropriate cooling solutions.
- Managing opportunities from initial qualification through proposal, commercial negotiation and order.
- Working closely with engineering, service and commercial colleagues to develop the right overall customer solution.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline information and providing useful market and competitor insight.
- Representing the business with customers and at relevant industry events.
There is an established international organisation, strong technical support and proven operating processes behind you, while you will retain genuine responsibility for developing your own market.
What will make you relevant?
The strongest candidates will combine three things:
Data Centre market understanding + cooling/HVAC expertise + genuine technical sales capability.
You should already understand the Data Centre environment and how cooling infrastructure fits within it.
Technically, you are likely to bring credible experience in at least one relevant area such as:
- Chillers
- Precision or data-hall cooling
- CRAH / CRAC
- Fan-wall systems
- Liquid cooling
- CDUs
- Related refrigeration or HVAC systems
**You do not need to be an expert across every technology**
- Strong technical knowledge in one relevant area, combined with an understanding of the wider cooling environment and the willingness to broaden your expertise, could work very well.
- Commercially, you should be able to demonstrate experience developing customers, building pipeline and converting technically complex opportunities rather than working solely in a technical support capacity.
- A relevant technical or engineering background in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Refrigeration/HVAC or a closely related discipline is expected.
- Professional proficiency in Danish and English is required.
The hiring manager is also looking for somebody who takes responsibility, works well independently, is keen to learn and contributes positively to the wider team.
Why consider it?
The timing is a significant part of the opportunity.
The company is developing its direct Danish Data Centre business, having historically operated through a more distributor-led model. You would therefore be joining at a stage where you can genuinely influence the territory rather than simply inherit an established customer base and follow an existing sales approach.
You will have access to a broad and developing cooling portfolio, international technical expertise, established processes and colleagues performing similar roles elsewhere in Europe.
As the Danish operation grows, there may also be scope for successful early hires to take on broader responsibility.
Location and working pattern
This is a highly customer-facing position covering Denmark, but based out of the Copenhagan office.
Approximately 60% of the role is expected to be spent in the field or with customers, with regular travel throughout Denmark. When not visiting customers, you will work closely with the Copenhagen team, normally spending around one to two days per week in the office, with flexibility around customer meetings.
Salary, bonus and benefits
The company is not working to one rigid advertised salary level.
The package will reflect the experience, seniority and track record of the successful candidate.
The anticipated earnings structure is approximately 70% basic salary / 30% performance-related bonus at target, with additional earning potential for performance above target.
Further details of the overall benefits package can be discussed during the recruitment process.
Interested?
If your background combines Data Centre experience, cooling/HVAC knowledge and genuine technical sales responsibility, I would be interested in speaking with you.
