We are looking for a Technical Service Manager, Household Care, Starch, Oils & Fats to lead our Technical Service function across South Asia. You will develop a high-performing, customer-focused technical team and help translate customer needs, industry trends and biological innovation into differentiated solutions and sustainable business growth.

The Role & Your Impact

As Technical Service Manager, you will lead the Technical Service agenda for Household Care, Starch, Oils & Fats across South Asia. Your role combines people leadership, technical excellence, customer engagement and strategic business contribution.

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical Service & Innovation and regional and global teams, you will ensure that customers receive high-quality and timely technical solutions while strengthening our position as a trusted technical partner.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and develop a high-performing Technical Service team, coaching and empowering team members, strengthening technical capabilities and creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning and safety.
• Drive customer and technical excellence by ensuring high-quality, timely and impactful technical solutions, application support and professional technical communication that strengthen our Trusted Advisor position with customers.
• Contribute to industry and business leadership by co-leading relevant industry groups and partnering with Sales and Marketing to connect customer and industry needs with differentiated technical solutions, value propositions, pipeline opportunities and regional growth priorities.
• Accelerate innovation and successful launches by collaborating with Technical Service & Innovation and regional and global technical networks to bring new products, tools, services and relevant global capabilities to customers in South Asia.
• Strengthen technical partnerships and networks by working with internal and external experts, technical institutes and partners to expand knowledge, capabilities and access to expertise.
• Optimise resources, infrastructure and budgets in line with customer and business priorities, identifying capability and investment needs while ensuring responsible utilisation of internal and external technical resources.

Success in this role will be reflected through tangible business and customer impact, high standards of technical execution, successful innovation and launches, the continued development of team capabilities, and effective management of resources, safety and compliance.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• A PhD, M.Sc. or B.Sc. in biological sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering or another relevant scientific or technical discipline.
• At least five years of relevant professional experience, together with demonstrated success in leading projects or teams.
• Strong scientific and technical expertise, with the ability to understand applications, processes and customer technical challenges.
• Proven people-leadership capabilities, including coaching, team development and technical capability building.
• Strong customer and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate technical solutions into clear customer and business value.
• Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to connect industry trends, customer needs and technical capabilities to business opportunities.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills, including the ability to work effectively across Sales, Marketing, Technical Service & Innovation, laboratory teams and regional and global functions.
• Strong technical communication, presentation and customer-engagement skills.

It would be an advantage if you bring:

• Experience within Household Care or another PHB-relevant industrial segment.
• Experience working in a regional or international technical environment.
• Experience contributing to product, application, tool or service launches.
• Experience collaborating with external technical institutes, experts or industry partners.
• A strong interest in combining technical excellence, customer insight and innovation to create sustainable business growth.

Ways of Working / Working Conditions

This is an office-first position based in Bangalore.

The role requires close collaboration with customers, partners and Novonesis colleagues across South Asia as well as regional and global technical teams.

Travel of approximately 35% is expected to support customers and business priorities.
