Job Type: Contractor
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Working Hours: Flexible, 20-40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $20 CAD/hour

*Please note that fluency in both English and Mandarin is required for this position.

What You'll Own

Test Development & Automation

  • Develop and maintain automated tests to validate application functionality, API integrations, and critical user workflows.

  • Write test scripts to identify bugs, edge cases, and regressions across our web applications and backend systems.

  • Help build and improve testing frameworks and tools to make our testing processes more efficient.

  • Contribute to integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to catch issues early in the development cycle.

    • API Testing & Debugging

    • Test REST APIs to validate data, responses, error handling, and integration behavior.

    • Investigate unexpected application behavior by analyzing logs, API responses, and error messages.

    • Reproduce and troubleshoot issues across our integrations with cloud marketplaces, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as CRM platforms like Salesforce and HubSpot.

    • Collaborate with engineers to investigate root causes, validate fixes, and prevent recurring issues.

      • Quality Engineering

      • Design and execute test cases based on product requirements, technical specifications, and user stories.

      • Perform exploratory, functional, and regression testing to identify potential issues before release.

      • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage and the reliability of our applications.

      • Document test results, bugs, and technical findings to help the engineering team maintain high-quality software.

        • Cross-functional Collaboration

        • Work closely with Software Engineers and Product Managers to identify potential risks and edge cases early in the development process.

        • Collaborate with our APAC engineering team to investigate and resolve technical issues.

        • Help improve engineering workflows, testing practices, and development processes.

What You Have

  • Proficiency in Mandarin to collaborate effectively with our APAC engineering team

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong interest in software, testing, and identifying bugs

  • Basic understanding of manual testing, including test cases, regression testing, and exploratory testing

  • Familiarity with REST APIs and reading logs is a plus

  • Strong written English and communication skills for documenting bugs

  • Detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced startup environment
