About NAES

At NAES, you’ll find engaging and challenging career opportunities in the power generation, renewable energy and industrial construction industry. At every level of the company, we share a common goal: To instill confidence in our clients through our steadfast commitment to safety, integrity and quality of work.

NAES is largest independent operator of power facilities in the industry, operating more than 190 power plants throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the UK that span all technologies and provide over 49 GW of capacity. With the strength of 4000 people, our growing family of companies now addresses the entire life cycle of power generation and other industrial plants.

Summary

The Transition Services Manager coordinates the mobilization and transition of energy facilities into, out of, or between NAES operations and maintenance (O&M) management. Serve as the primary coordinator between plant owners, operations leadership, corporate support functions, and project teams to ensure successful transition from contract award through Care, Custody, and Control (CCC) and operational handoff. Manage project planning, schedules, resources, budgets, and readiness requirements to ensure an effective handoff, prioritizing safety, regulatory compliance, and continuity of operations.

Primary Duties

Transition Planning and Execution

  • Manage mobilization plans, including project objectives, deliverables, schedules, responsibilities, resource requirements, and budget estimates, tracking milestones and addressing variances that could affect timelines, costs, or readiness.
  • Coordinate site readiness activities, gap assessments, facility evaluations, and operational handoff requirements.
  • Coordinate development of plant procedures, schedules, training plans, safety programs, environmental compliance requirements, and NERC readiness activities.
  • Organize mobilization and demobilization activities to support the orderly transfer of operational responsibilities, personnel, equipment, systems, documentation, and processes.
  • Facilitate internal and client mobilization meetings and provide project status reporting.
  • Monitor mobilization progress, identify risks and implementation challenges, and communicate project status and recommended actions to clients and NAES leadership.
  • Support standardization and continuous improvement of transition-service processes.

Client and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of coordination between clients, NAES personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders, establishing clear expectations, accountabilities, and communication practices to support timely completion of mobilization activities and alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with existing plant leadership, incoming management teams, outgoing service providers, and project personnel to facilitate decisions, resolve issues, and maintain continuity of operations.

New Construction and Facility Expansion

  • Support operational readiness activities for new facilities, newly constructed generating units, and expansions at existing NAES-managed plants in collaboration with clients, engineering personnel, project teams, and plant leadership.
  • Align construction schedules, staffing plans, training activities, and readiness milestones with EPC contractors and other project stakeholders to support anticipated startup and commercial operation dates.
  • Prepare operating personnel for startup and commercial operations through orientation, training coordination, and alignment with NAES processes and expectations.
  • Oversee the coordination and review of plant operating manuals, procedures, and other required documentation with appropriate NAES personnel and clients.

Ownership and Contract Transitions

  • Facilitate transitions when ownership of a NAES-managed facility changes, supporting the transfer of operational responsibilities and information between former and incoming owners and relevant operating teams.
  • Coordinate employee transfers, orientation, and recruitment activities, as applicable, with Human Resources, plant leadership, and other stakeholders to address staffing needs and support operational continuity.
  • Identify contractual obligations, project dependencies, and transition risks that could affect service continuity, staffing, readiness, or the commencement or conclusion of an O&M agreement.

Operational Readiness and Closeout

  • Assess transition progress through project reports, readiness assessments, stakeholder feedback, and onsite observations, identifying deficiencies and coordinating corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Verify completion of mobilization deliverables, document outstanding items, and facilitate the handoff to the responsible plant management or client team.
  • Prepare project status reports, mobilization summaries, and lessons learned to support management oversight and improve future transition planning and execution.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of NAES transition services and operational objectives.
