Transport expertise. Commercial thinking. Winning solutions.

We’re looking for an accomplished Transport Solutions Manager to join our team in Northampton, with hybrid working. This is an opportunity for an experienced transport solutions professional with a strong track record of developing and winning complex, large-scale customer solutions.

Combining strategic thinking, advanced data analysis and strong commercial awareness, you’ll develop innovative transport models that optimise networks, reduce cost and deliver operational excellence. From understanding customer requirements through to solution design and implementation, you’ll play a key role in creating solutions that support growth and deliver long-term value.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a competitive salary which will be discussed during a telephone interview along with an attractive benefits package including a company car or car allowance. In addition, we offer 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days, so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. You’ll also have access to a workplace pension, our GXO University which provides you the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications at a pace that you’re comfortable with. Plus, many other perks such as a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme and our continued focus on internal promotions.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead the design and costing of complex, large-scale transport solutions for new business opportunities and existing operations
  • Use advanced modelling and network design tools, including Paragon, to develop efficient, scalable and commercially competitive transport networks
  • Analyse operational and customer data, undertaking scenario planning, feasibility studies and network reviews to identify opportunities, risks and efficiencies
  • Manage multiple projects and key stakeholders, including customer workshops and site visits, translating requirements into compelling proposals and recommendations
  • Collaborate across the business to implement and optimise solutions, supporting tenders, continuous improvement, ESG strategy and emerging AI and technology initiatives

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven track record of designing, leading and winning large-scale, complex transport solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with extensive experience in transport modelling, network design and cost optimisation
  • Advanced knowledge of transport planning and modelling tools, including Paragon, alongside strong data analysis skills
  • Excellent customer-facing, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop and present compelling transport solutions
  • Strong project and team leadership skills, with experience managing analysts and cross-functional teams while delivering complex projects to challenging deadlines
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Transport Planning, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management; professional certifications and CPC desirable
