Execute project activities as required to meet day-to-day and overall objectives. · Understand and apply the requirements in project documents regarding quality control procedures such as testing, shop drawings, material approvals, samples, execution of the work, etc. Field verify layout coordinates and maintain a current set of as-builts. · Enforce the project specific safety requirements while creating a safety culture of care an empathy. Lead the daily completion and submission to the customer of JHA, PTP, confined space entry, excavation, and all other required safety permits. · Become familiar with each job cost estimate for labor, materials, equipment, general conditions and work with the Project Manager regarding performing work within the boundaries of the budget and contracted scope. · Keep the Project Manager apprised of any change in activity or cost prior to incurring additional time or materials outside of the project scope. · Provide input on scheduling and placement of production crews. Plan and review the construction project with the support of the Project Manager daily. Supervise the scheduling and completion of warranty issues. Establish daily, weekly, and three-week lookahead work plans and project specific manloaders. · Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of progress schedules, keep them properly updated, and ensure that everything feasible is done for the project to meet the required dates. Establish, deliver and file daily job reports. · Support the Project Manager to ensure timely on-site delivery of materials and equipment furnished by the customer or the company. · Direct and train the field staff to ensure their continued development by use of performance evaluations, varying assignments, and promoting positive project morale. · Manage all project site specific inventories for materials, tools, and equipment Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5–7 years of construction experience, with progressive field leadership experience. Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, or comparable field leadership role. Underground utility, electrical distribution, civil construction, excavation, or infrastructure experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience managing multiple crews, foremen, subcontractors, and/or simultaneous projects. Travel & Availability Ability and willingness to travel extensively to company projects and job sites. Must be available for overnight and extended travel, potentially for multiple weeks depending on project requirements. Ability to temporarily work outside the employee's home market or assigned division. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, nights, or emergency schedules when required by project conditions. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with company requirements. Safety & Compliance Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and jobsite safety practices . OSHA 30 certification preferred or required within a specified period after hire. Ability to enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, and project-specific safety procedures. Experience overseeing excavation, trenching, underground utilities, heavy equipment operations, and related construction hazards preferred. Ability to conduct jobsite inspections and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately. Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings. Technical Skills Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and utility layouts. Working knowledge of underground construction methods, excavation, trenching, conduit installation, restoration, and related field operations. Familiarity with construction equipment and proper equipment utilization. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, mobile applications, and construction/project management software. Ability to accurately complete or review daily reports, production reports, timesheets, equipment reports, and project documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on active construction sites and uneven terrain. Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and access active work areas as necessary. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds , with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to wear required PPE and work safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations.
