We are looking for a new Treasury Specialist to join Ahlstrom's Group Treasury team.

As a Treasury Specialist, you will support a variety of Treasury Back Office, Treasury Reporting and Risk Reporting activities. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Treasury team, provide support across different areas when needed, and contribute to treasury projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a full-time and permanent position based at Ahlstrom's headquarters in Espoo, Finland, reporting to Head of Transactional Finance. The role is hybrid, offering the flexibility to work both at our modern Espoo office and from your home office.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership for the reconciliation and settlement activities for all transactions within the treasury.
  • Being responsible for Treasury Back Office operations such as:
    • Settlement and accounting for all external and internal Treasury transactions (FX, loans, Commercial papers, bonds, financial hedges, CO2 emission rights, bank fees, interest, IC invoices etc.)
    • Communicating with external counterparties about new trades and upcoming settlements
    • Supporting month-end closing including cash pool and bank account reconciliations and IC matching
    • Ensuring correctness of daily market data imports into various systems
    • Preparing periodic internal and external reporting
    • Advising and communicating subsidiaries about loans, interests, dividends etc.
  • Supporting Treasury Controller as needed with period end closing activities (Loan reconciliation, debt portfolio reporting, cash reports, Hedge accounted FX portfolio reporting).
  • Supporting the Factoring Manager with weekly activities, including coordination with the factoring partner and subsidiaries, monitoring funding, preparing accounting reports and maintaining the factoring cash flow forecast.
  • Being responsible for weekly groupwide monitoring of actual cash flows compared to the forecasts. Continuous development of a system that assigs transactions to different cash flows.
  • Taking ownership of payment system, back-office workflows, and static data in the new Treasury Management System (TMS).
  • Supporting internal and external audit procedures as needed.
  • Challenging and optimizing tools and processes related to the relevant activities.
  • Pro-actively identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement.
  • Participating in treasury projects and independently performing other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Ongoing or completed university studies in finance, accounting, business administration or another relevant field. Equivalent practical experience is also welcome.
  • A genuine interest in Treasury Back Office activities and motivation to learn and develop professionally. Previous experience from an internship, student position, traineeship or relevant professional role is considered an advantage, but is not required.
  • A proactive, accurate and reliable way of working, with the ability to organize your tasks, meet deadlines and take increasing ownership of your responsibilities.
  • Good general digital skills and an interest in learning banking and Treasury systems. Any exposure through studies, internships, student jobs, or a first role is an advantage.
  • A collaborative mindset, clear verbal and written communication skills, and confidence using English in a professional setting. You should be open to feedback and motivated to improve processes together with colleagues and stakeholders.
