Role Overview
Collateral Optimization within Markets Operations is a dynamic, high-profile global function established to deliver best-in-class capabilities across collateral management, inventory management, risk mitigation, and liquidity efficiency. The team supports global markets businesses across multiple asset classes and regions (Europe, Asia, and North America), partnering with Front Office trading desks, Corporate Treasury, and external market infrastructures to deliver controlled, cost-efficient, and scalable collateral solutions.
As a Senior Analyst in the Collateral Funding & Projections team, you will play an essential role in daily liquidity and collateral governance. You will be responsible for producing critical daily funding projections, tracking settlement lifecycles for high-value transactions, managing trade fails, and resolving exceptions with global clients, triparty agents, Central Securities Depositories (CSDs), and Central Counterparties (CCPs) within a robust risk and control environment.
What you'll do
- Generate and deliver daily collateral and liquidity funding projections and senior management reports to Corporate Treasury and Finance trading desks, ensuring optimal collateral supply aligns with funding demand.
- Monitor and oversee trade settlement lifecycles and Triparty Repo transactions, actively managing settlement fails and collaborating with triparty agents, CSDs, and CCPs across global markets.
- Analyze complex, high-volume transaction data across internal and vendor systems to investigate trade economic discrepancies, resolve unfunded positions, and remediate root causes.
- Engage and partner with diverse stakeholders, including Front Office trading desks, Corporate Treasury, external clients, and market counterparties to resolve exceptions and drive client satisfaction.
- Strengthen the control and risk environment by adhering to regulatory standards, identifying operational vulnerabilities, and implementing automation initiatives to enhance workflow scalability.
- Support team development and cultural initiatives by assisting and guiding junior colleagues, prioritizing daily deliverables under tight market cut-offs, and championing diversity and inclusion.
What we need from you
Experience & Domain Knowledge
- Practical execution experience in financial services operations, middle office, settlements, or treasury operations; background in collateral management, repo, or fixed income/equities post-trade processing is advantageous.
- Baseline understanding of capital markets products, trade lifecycles, triparty infrastructures, and settlement mechanics across CSDs and CCPs.
- Familiarity with funding, liquidity monitoring, and collateral optimization concepts.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Practical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting).
- Strong analytical aptitude with practical experience navigating multiple data systems to perform root-cause analysis and exception reconciliation.
- Proven capability to manage large datasets accurately with high attention to detail.
Operational & Governance Acumen
- Foundational knowledge of operational risk management, control frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards in capital markets.
- Proven problem-solving ability with a proactive mindset toward streamlining manual processes and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to execute time-critical deliverables within strict market deadlines.
Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex operational matters clearly to internal and external partners.
- Collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior team members.
- Proactive attitude with an enthusiasm for learning and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Preferred Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical industry experience.
