This position is responsible for enforcing community standards, investigating policy violations, and responding to emerging threats such as fraud, abuse, harassment, misinformation, and harmful content.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth investigations into complex safety reports, including harassment, hate speech, misinformation, and illegal content.
  • Apply and interpret internal policies with high accuracy. Identify gaps in current policy and propose actionable solutions to adapt to emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to refine detection tools and workflows, reducing the volume of harmful content at scale.

  • Analyze incoming data to identify new vectors of abuse (spam, scams, coordinated inauthentic behavior) and escalate them proactively.
  • Handle sensitive escalations from users in a trauma-informed manner, ensuring they feel heard and supported.
  • Act as the voice of the user by providing regular insights to the Policy, Product, and Legal teams. Translate on-the-ground trends into actionable recommendations that inform policy updates, product features, and legal compliance strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-priority or sensitive escalations, including law enforcement requests and legal inquiries. Manage crisis situations with composure, ensuring timely and accurate responses while protecting user privacy and platform integrity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Risk Operations, or Intelligence Analysis, specifically within the tech/social media sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to make high-stakes decisions quickly, often with incomplete information.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to manage exposure to potentially disturbing content (graphic violence, hate speech, etc.). Must have established self-care strategies.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written communication skills. Ability to explain complex policy decisions clearly to users and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Trust & Safety tools (e.g., Salesforce, Jira, moderation dashboards) and a solid understanding of how AI/automation is used in safety work.
  • Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations, such as platform abuse-spikes, breaking news events, or live-streaming incidents. Comfortable making swift decisions during active crises while maintaining composure and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns of abuse. Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) or basic SQL to pull and interpret safety metrics is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with global regulations impacting Trust and Safety work such as; GDPR, the Digital Services Act (DSA), or COPPA. Understanding of how to balance user privacy with safety investigations.
