TV Composer & Sound Designer Needed for a Studio Game/Dating Show

WE’RE HIRING: TV COMPOSER & SOUND DESIGNER

We are developing a new studio entertainment show in Abuja and are looking for an experienced TV Composer and Sound Designer to create its original musical and sound identity.

The show will combine competition, dating, humour and suspense. We need sound that actively guides the experience, building tension, signalling key moments and making every reveal feel exciting.

The role includes creating:

• Original opening and closing themes

• Guest-introduction music

• Quiz and countdown tension beds

• Correct and incorrect answer sounds

• “First to answer” and “pens down” cues

• Round-transition stings

• Decision and elimination music

• Compatibility and major-reveal cues

• Winner celebration music

• Additional sound effects required throughout the show

Qualified candidate should understand how music and sound are used in studio game shows and reality television to control pace, emotion, humour and suspense.

Requirements:

• Experience in composition, sound design or music production

• A strong portfolio of original work

• Ability to create distinctive, broadcast-quality music and sound effects

• Ability to work closely with the director, editor and lighting team

• Ability to deliver individual, clearly labelled audio cues and final mastered versions

• Availability to work on an Abuja-based production

Qualifications

• Strong music creation skills, including Music Composition and Orchestration, with the ability to write themes and cues that fit game and dating show formats.
• Hands-on Music Production experience, including recording, arranging, and mixing music suitable for TV broadcast.
• Broad musical understanding and stylistic versatility, with a solid foundation in Music theory and contemporary genres.
• Ability to integrate and refine audio elements using Compositing techniques within post-production workflows.
• Proficiency with industry-standard DAWs and audio tools (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, or similar), and familiarity with TV audio loudness standards.
• Experience in sound design for television, streaming, or games, including effects, Foley, and ambience creation.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with creative, editorial, and production teams in a remote environment.
• Reliable self-management, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-volume production schedule.
• Previous work on entertainment, reality, or game/dating show content is a plus; a portfolio or reel demonstrating relevant music and sound design is strongly preferred.

Experience in television, game shows, reality shows, live events or broadcast production is highly desirable.

All compositions must be original.

Successful candidate will need to sign an agreement confirming that all work is original and granting the production company full rights to use the completed music and sound effects across all platforms and future seasons across television, streaming platforms, YouTube, social media, trailers, advertisements and future seasons.
