US Staff Accountant

We are looking for an experienced US Staff Accountant to join our team and support a fast-paced accounting environment with a strong focus on high-volume balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys working with large volumes of transactions, investigating discrepancies, and identifying the root cause of reconciliation issues. The position will initially focus on payroll-related liabilities, with the opportunity to expand into additional balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities.

⚡What you'll do:

• Prepare and maintain detailed, high-volume balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reconcile payroll-related liabilities, including payroll taxes, benefits, 401(k), workers’ compensation, deductions, and clearing accounts.
• Compare payroll, GL, bank, tax, invoice, and third-party data to identify discrepancies.
• Research and resolve reconciling items and maintain proper supporting documentation.
• Prepare high-volume bank reconciliations involving cash receipts, disbursements, ACH transactions, wires, and payroll funding activity.
• Prepare journal entries related to reconciliations, accruals, reclasses, and adjustments.
• Support month-end close activities and financial reporting schedules.
• Work with Payroll, Treasury, Benefits, Tax, and Operations teams to resolve discrepancies and improve reconciliation processes.
• Help standardize reconciliation procedures, documentation, and follow-up processes.

Preferred

• Experience with payroll liabilities, payroll taxes, benefits, workers’ compensation, garnishments, or deduction accounts.
• Experience in a PEO, payroll services, staffing, or other high-volume environment.
• Public accounting experience.

💡You are:

• Well-spoken bilingual with a B2+/C1 English level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2+ Years of accounting experience with significant responsibility for detailed reconciliations within the US Market.
• Demonstrated experience preparing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations involving high transaction volumes.
• Strong understanding of general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, clearing accounts, and month-end close processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and ability to identify patterns, exceptions, and root causes.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and working with large data sets.
• Ability to manage recurring deadlines, prioritize open items, and communicate follow-up needs clearly.
