Company Overview

Blue Tees Golf is a dynamic, fast-growing consumer electronic golf technology company that is revolutionizing the golfing experience. We specialize in the design, development, and distribution of innovative products that enhance the performance and enjoyment of golfers worldwide. We aspire to be more than another golf technology brand. We champion the progression of the game and motivate golfers to Play Different®. That’s why at Blue Tees Golf our mission is to make high-quality equipment accessible to all golfers.

Job Summary

Blue Tees Golf is seeking a UX/UI Designer with connected-hardware experience to create intuitive, cohesive experiences across physical devices and digital interfaces. You will own assigned design workstreams from information architecture and user flows through high-fidelity UI, interactive prototyping, engineering handoff, and implementation review.

You will collaborate with UX, Product, Engineering, QA, and external development partners to translate user needs, product requirements, and technical constraints into practical, polished designs. This hands-on individual contributor role requires strong UX problem solving, attention to visual detail, and clear communication across a distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own assigned design workstreams: Deliver UX/UI deliverables for launch monitors, connected mobile apps, and simulation experiences. Clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and surface decisions or delivery risks early.
  • Define end-to-end experiences: Create information architecture, user journeys, interaction models, flows, and wireframes that connect hardware and software experiences. Address key states, edge cases, errors, and recovery paths.
  • Create polished interfaces and prototypes: Develop high-fidelity screens, visual assets, and rapid interactive prototypes to explore concepts, communicate functionality, and validate solutions.
  • Collaborate across teams and suppliers: Partner with Product Managers, software and hardware engineers, QA, and a China-based supplier to balance usability, technical feasibility, and launch priorities.
  • Apply shared design standards and tools: Use approved components and interaction patterns, document design-system gaps, and apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate exploration and prototyping. Review outputs for usability, consistency, and feasibility.
  • Support research and iteration: Participate in usability testing, synthesize findings, and incorporate user feedback, subject-matter expertise, and available analytics into design decisions.
  • Ensure implementation quality: Review builds against design specifications, document actionable UX/UI issues in the agreed tracking tool, and collaborate with Engineering and QA through resolution.
  • Maintain clear documentation and handoffs: Keep Figma files, specifications, design rationale, and progress updates organized so internal teams and external partners can implement designs effectively across time zones.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required

  • Hands-on experience designing connected-hardware experiences that bridge physical devices and digital interfaces, including collaboration with hardware, firmware, and software teams.
  • A portfolio demonstrating UX process, product thinking, strong UI craft, and shipped connected-product work, with clear explanations of your contributions, design decisions, and implementation constraints.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and FigJam, including component libraries, high-fidelity UI, interactive prototyping, and developer handoff.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear information architecture, intuitive user flows, and detailed interaction specifications.
  • Experience working within a design system and applying consistent interaction patterns, accessibility principles, and inclusive design practices.
  • Experience supporting usability testing, synthesizing findings, and using research, customer feedback, or analytics to improve designs.
  • Ability to independently progress assigned work while collaborating closely with a UX lead and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills in English, including explaining design tradeoffs and providing clear asynchronous updates.
  • Ability to collaborate with a China-based supplier through organized documentation and agreed meeting windows.
  • Availability for a minimum of two hours of overlap with headquarters working hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific Time, plus agreed supplier coordination windows. Specific collaboration hours will be established during hiring.
  • Willingness to learn golf fundamentals, scoring, launch monitor functionality, and simulation workflows. Prior golf knowledge is not required.

Preferred

  • Experience designing interfaces or interactions for Unity-based applications, 3D software, video games, or simulation products.
  • Experience with golf technology, sports or fitness products, consumer electronics, or companion mobile apps.
  • Experience designing device onboarding, connectivity, or performance-data experiences.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design and rapid prototyping workflows.
  • Familiarity with Linear, Jira, Confluence, or similar project tracking and documentation tools.

Education and Experience

  • 3–5+ years of professional UX/UI or product design experience, including relevant connected-hardware work. Mid or senior leveling will reflect demonstrated ownership, project complexity, and delivery experience.
  • A degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
