Build your full-time teleradiology career with Vets Choice Radiology (VCR) as we expand our employee radiologist team and invest in our next stage of growth. Bring your clinical expertise to a collegial remote practice with a consistent schedule, competitive salary, individual production earnings and comprehensive benefits.
Role at a Glance
• Fully remote, full-time employee opportunity with a consistent schedule of 30+ hours per week. Multiple positions available.
• Specialist interpretation and clinical consultation for emergency, specialty and general practices, supported by a collaborative radiology team.
• Competitive salary with individual production earning potential and comprehensive benefits. No travel or on-call duty required.
Your schedule will be developed collaboratively to balance your availability with VCR’s coverage needs. All radiologists are expected to share in covering higher-volume periods, including some weekday evenings, weekends and holidays. Your contribution to that coverage will be discussed and incorporated into your agreed-upon schedule.
Why Choose VCR
Your expertise helps veterinary teams make informed care decisions. VCR serves emergency, specialty and general practices with diagnostic interpretations and consultations that help referring veterinarians determine what comes next for their patients.
Founded in 2018, VCR connects more than 100 board-certified veterinary radiologists worldwide and provides interpretation services 24/7/365. We are investing in our people and advancing our technology as we grow. Join an established clinical community during an important period of development, with collaboration, mutual support and diagnostic quality at the heart of our work.
• Clinical coordination around your work. Our internal Clinical Liaison team coordinates client communication, missing histories and follow-up requests, while you provide clinical interpretations and necessary consultations.
• Connection to colleagues. Internal communication channels, case rounds, mentor rounds and quality assurance and peer review create opportunities to exchange expertise and learn together.
• Support for remote practice. IT and technical support are available during all shifts. VCR provides required computer equipment and monitors, plus partial reimbursement for internet service.
• An experienced mentor. Each new radiologist is paired with an experienced colleague during onboarding.
Your Clinical Work
Interpret externally submitted radiographs, ultrasound, CT and MRI studies and produce clear, accurate, actionable reports. Consult with referring veterinarians on complex or critical cases, prioritize urgent studies and contribute to rounds and quality review.
Your work combines efficient case interpretation with diagnostic accuracy, clear reporting and clinical consultation. In this production-based teleradiology role, reading pace and completed interpretations are important. You will assess images acquired by other practices, review available histories and image quality, and prioritize your remote caseload. VCR’s one-hour STAT guarantee makes timely attention to urgent studies essential.
Qualifications and Your Transition to Teleradiology
We welcome experienced teleradiologists and strong hospital- or clinic-based radiologists interested in building a full-time remote practice. Prior teleradiology experience is preferred, but is not required. Your clinical experience and readiness to interpret externally acquired studies will be important parts of the conversation.
• DVM, VMD or equivalent; Diplomate of the ACVR or ECVDI. Board-eligible candidates will be considered.
• Proficiency interpreting radiographs, ultrasound, CT and MRI, with sound clinical judgment and attention to diagnostic quality.
• An active veterinary license in a U.S. state, or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including clear reports and effective consultation with referring veterinarians.
• Ability to work independently, sustain concentration and prioritize cases in a high-volume setting.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, professional workspace with minimal background noise.
Experience in emergency imaging or exotic, equine or large animal imaging is valued. We also welcome an interest in mentorship, teaching and team development. As VCR grows, opportunities to contribute additional expertise and take on broader responsibilities may emerge.
Compensation and Benefits
VCR offers a competitive salary based on experience and credentials, with additional earning potential through an individual production plan. Salary and production compensation are distinct components of the opportunity; specific terms will be discussed during the hiring process.
