About Leo Berwick

Leo Berwick is a boutique tax and deal advisory firm built around infrastructure and energy transition. We are not generalists who happen to cover the sector - it is the whole of what we do, and it is why sponsors, developers, and funds bring us their most technical transactions.

Leo Berwick UK is an independent, partner-led practice, established as a UK LLP and run from London by its own founding Partnership team and Management Committee. We set our own strategy, select our own clients, and are accountable to each other. Where a mandate is genuinely cross-border, we draw on the wider Leo Berwick network across North America and Europe.

Our advisers come from Big 4 and City law firms, and most arrived for the same reason: the work was interesting, the structure around it was not. As a growth-stage company, we move quickly, work collaboratively, and value people who take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Our culture is grounded in high performance, continuous learning, and the shared ambition to build something exceptional, together.

Why Leo Berwick

You’ll have the autonomy of a partner-led firm with direct access to its Partners. As part of the founding team, you’ll have real influence over how the practice wins work, delivers for clients and uses technology to do it better. Your contribution will be visible, your ideas will have an impact, and you’ll be recognized for what you help build as the practice grows.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Vice President, Deal Advisory to join our founding London team. This is a build role, not just a seat. You’ll work directly with Partners on live transactions while playing a central role in shaping how the practice uses AI, automation and proprietary tools to deliver faster, sharper and more efficient advice.

You’re the right fit for this role if –

  • You’re at a Big 4 or leading advisory firm and want more ownership, pace and recognition than a large organisation allows.
  • You believe deal advisory is overdue for change and want to help define what an AI-enabled practice can look like.
  • You’re as comfortable building a tool or automating a workflow as you are running a deal.
  • You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and want to be rewarded for the value you create.

What you'll do

  • Deal execution: Lead diligence and structuring workstreams on small, mid and large-cap private equity transactions, from scoping through to completion.
  • Funds flows: Build and manage completion funds flow models, working directly with PE clients, lenders and legal counsel to make sure funds move accurately and on time at completion.
  • Model review: Review transaction and financial models, challenge key assumptions and identify issues that could impact value.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Lead relationships with sponsors, management teams, lenders, lawyers and fellow advisers, often against tight deal timetables.
  • AI and automation: Lead the practice’s adoption of AI and process automation to reduce manual effort, accelerate turnaround times and raise the quality of delivery.
  • Tool development: Partner with technology teams to design, build and deploy diligence and tax tools that automate core deal processes.
  • Practice building: Help shape the practice’s delivery model, methodologies and templates; support Partners on proposals and business development; and mentor Senior Associates.

What you bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in transaction services, financial due diligence or a related deal advisory role.
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent chartered accountancy qualification, ideally with first-time passes.
  • Hands-on experience running funds flows and deal execution for PE clients across small, mid and large-cap transactions.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience building and reviewing complex models.
  • Strong AI proficiency, with hands-on experience using VBA and other process automation tools.
  • Experience working with technology or product teams to turn deal processes into scalable tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to perform under deal pressure.
  • Exposure to infrastructure and energy transition transactions is welcome but not essential.

Benefits & Perks

  • Generous paid annual leave
  • Flexible working arrangements – remote and location flexibility
  • Study and professional subscription support
  • Childcare support
  • Private medical and dental cover
  • Pension contributions
  • Monthly well-being allowance
  • Further benefits to support your physical and mental wellbeing
