Reporting to the Vice President, International, the Vice President, Commercial Operations & Marketing will serve as the senior commercial leader for international markets, accountable for defining the commercial strategy, operating model, resource priorities, and execution required to launch and grow Viridian’s TED portfolio. This leader will own the international brand strategy, field-force design, launch readiness, and in-market performance for two Phase 3 assets, making decisions with significant financial, organizational, and multi-year business impact.

Operating as part of the International Leadership Team and partnering closely with cross-functional leaders, this role will engage across priority launch markets and external stakeholders to create a launch platform for the successful commercialization of the Viridian portfolio.

A close partnership with US/Global Marketing, US Commercial Effectiveness & Analytics, International Medical Affairs and International Market Access & Government Affairs will be particularly critical to align strategy and build awareness, differentiation and adoption in priority markets. This is a foundational leadership role with significant responsibility for shaping Viridian’s international capabilities from early launch planning through commercialization and lifecycle management. This position will be based in EU or UK.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

International Commercial Operations

  • Serve as the senior commercial operations and marketing leader for international markets, establishing the operating model, owning priorities and investments to drive executional and competitive excellence in-market across commercialization activities.
  • Operate as part of the International Leadership Team to align brand strategy with marketing, market access, regulatory, and medical affairs plans
  • Make clear recommendations related to launch sequence, market prioritization, investment trade-offs, launch timing, and resource deployment in partnership with Market Access, Medical Affairs and other cross-functional leaders
  • Partner with the Vice President, Head of International to integrate commercialization, scale-up & footprint considerations into broader international launch and portfolio strategies
  • Translate global/regional brand strategies into country specific plans that reflect local customer needs, the competitive environment and healthcare infrastructure
  • Lead the creation of go-to-market and national/territory executional cycle plans for both launches, partnering with the leadership team and analytics to track/meet critical launch KPIs
  • Build, lead, and develop internal international regional and in-country commercial capabilities over time, including oversight of external vendors and partners

International Brand Strategy

  • Develop and execute a long-term brand strategy and marketing execution for the launch of two TED products, ensuring each product’s value proposition and differentiation are clearly communicated
  • Lead the creation of go-to-market plans, including market segmentation, competitive positioning, and brand messaging for both launches
  • Lead the detailed execution of launch plans for both products, ensuring that all pre-launch, launch, and post-launch activities are completed on time and with high impact
  • Continuously monitor and adjust marketing strategies based on market feedback, sales performance, and evolving competitive dynamics
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including R&D, sales, medical affairs, regulatory, and market access, to ensure all marketing efforts are aligned with broader company goals
  • Manage marketing budgets and resources across both product launches, ensuring efficient allocation of funds while maximizing impact
  • Drive innovation, incorporating new tools, channels, and technologies to engage stakeholders
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with regulatory and legal guidelines, working closely with internal and external regulatory experts.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with US/Global Marketing, Commercial Effectiveness & Analytics, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Advocacy, etc
  • Serve as a key commercial thought-partner to international and global leadership teams
  • In collaboration with Legal/Compliance, ensure compliant, coordinated execution of brand strategy & tactics across markets

External Partnerships & Governance

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners supporting international commercialization, including consultancies and local affiliates
  • Establish planning and tracking to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of launch milestones
  • Provide regular updates to the VP, Head of International on strategy, risks, and progress
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 20+ years biotech/pharma experience in commercial strategy, launch execution and organizational scaling
  • Leadership experience across international markets, demonstrating a deep understanding of the external environment and what is required to launch successfully
  • Proven track record of driving performance for specialty or rare disease products, ideally in ophthalmology or endocrinology in highly competitive, complex markets
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to translate insights and analytics into actionable plans
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to both internal and external stakeholders with executive presence
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience in engaging with key opinion leaders, external institutions, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, lean, scaling environment
  • Proven mindset of proactive continuous improvement
  • Strong commitment to ethical standards
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required (approximately 30–40%)
  • The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
