We are looking for a Vice President, Supply Chain Planning who will be a critical leader in the continued transformation and integration of Reliable Safety and Flow Corporation. This executive will develop and lead a best-in-class supply chain planning organization capable of supporting the company’s growth strategy, improving operational performance, optimizing working capital, and creating a more integrated and scalable manufacturing network.
Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the VP will own the enterprise planning strategy across demand planning and forecasting, supply planning, production planning, material planning, inventory optimization, capacity planning, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). The role will bring greater discipline, visibility, and predictability to the supply chain while establishing common processes, systems, metrics, and accountability across the organization.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on transformation leader who can assess the current state, establish a clear future-state vision, and drive the organization through meaningful change. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable presenting a supply chain transformation roadmap to the executive leadership team, leading a cross-functional S&OP meeting, and working directly with plant and operations leaders to solve planning challenges.
The ideal candidate will bring experience leading a large planning organization in a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment, along with a demonstrated track record of translating supply chain improvements into measurable business results.
How You Will Help
Supply Chain Transformation & Strategy
- Develop and execute a multi-year supply chain planning transformation roadmap aligned with the company’s growth and value-creation strategy.
- Assess the current planning organization, processes, systems, data, and capabilities, and establish a clear future-state operating model.
- Build a standardized, scalable planning function across Reliable Safety and Flow Corporation, while allowing appropriate flexibility for unique business and manufacturing requirements.
- Establish common planning processes, definitions, KPIs, governance, and accountability across sites and business units.
- Identify opportunities to improve service, reduce cost, increase manufacturing productivity, improve inventory performance, and unlock working capital.
- Partner with executive leadership to translate strategic growth objectives, acquisitions, and commercial initiatives into actionable supply chain requirements.
- Develop and maintain a prioritized portfolio of supply chain transformation initiatives with clear financial and operational outcomes.
S&OP / Integrated Business Planning
- Establish and lead a disciplined enterprise S&OP/Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process that connects Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Transform S&OP into an executive business-management process that drives decisions on demand, capacity, inventory, production, and financial performance.
- Create clear visibility into demand changes, capacity constraints, supply risks, inventory exposure, and required actions.
- Establish a consistent monthly planning cadence, decision-making framework, and escalation process across the organization.
- Provide executive leadership with fact-based recommendations and clear tradeoffs, rather than simply reporting supply chain issues.
- Continuously improve the maturity, effectiveness, and adoption of the S&OP process.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Build a robust enterprise demand planning capability that improves forecast accuracy and provides a reliable view of future customer and market requirements.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the company’s demand planning and forecasting processes.
- Partner with Sales, Commercial, Marketing, and Finance to develop accurate, actionable demand forecasts that incorporate market intelligence, customer requirements, growth initiatives, and commercial opportunities.
- Establish forecasting methodologies, performance measures, and accountability for forecast accuracy.
- Develop processes to identify and respond to changes in customer demand, market conditions, seasonality, and business trends.
- Translate commercial and strategic growth plans into actionable demand requirements.
Supply, Production & Material Planning
- Lead the development of supply plans that balance customer requirements, manufacturing capacity, sourcing constraints, inventory objectives, and financial targets.
- Lead material planning to ensure the right raw materials and components are available to support production plans, in partnership with Procurement and suppliers.
- Establish MRP parameters, lead times, lot sizes, and material policies that support reliable execution while minimizing excess material and shortages.
- Establish standardized planning parameters, policies, and performance expectations across the manufacturing network.
- Develop proactive processes to identify supply, material, and capacity constraints before they affect customers or financial performance.
- Improve planning responsiveness while reducing unnecessary schedule changes, expedite activity, and operational disruption.
Manufacturing & Capacity Planning
- Partner closely with plant and Operations leadership to develop a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing capacity, constraints, bottlenecks, labor requirements, and capital needs.
- Establish an integrated capacity planning process that supports both near-term execution and long-term network strategy.
- Identify opportunities to optimize production across the manufacturing footprint, including make/buy, outsourcing, product allocation, and capacity utilization decisions.
- Support decisions regarding capital investment, equipment requirements, plant capabilities, and manufacturing footprint optimization.
- Develop scenarios and recommendations to support growth, new product introductions, acquisitions, and changes in customer demand.
Inventory & Working Capital Transformation
- Establish an enterprise inventory strategy designed to improve customer service while materially reducing excess inventory and working capital.
- Develop inventory segmentation, safety-stock policies, service-level targets, and planning parameters appropriate to different product categories and customer requirements.
- Establish visibility into excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and at-risk inventory, and lead cross-functional efforts to address root causes.
- Partner closely with Finance to establish working capital targets and translate inventory initiatives into measurable cash-flow improvements.
- Drive sustainable improvements in inventory turns and cash conversion rather than relying on short-term inventory reductions.
Integration & Acquisition Support
- Play a key leadership role in integrating supply chain planning processes, systems, data, and organizational capabilities, including following acquisitions.
- Develop repeatable planning integration playbooks that can be leveraged as the company continues to grow.
- Identify opportunities to leverage combined demand, manufacturing capacity, sourcing capabilities, and inventory across the broader organization.
- Establish consistent planning standards while effectively managing legacy processes and organizational differences.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Commercial, IT, and integration teams to ensure supply chain initiatives support broader integration and value-creation objectives.
Technology, Data & Analytics
- Lead the evolution of the company’s supply chain planning technology and data capabilities.
- Assess and optimize ERP, MRP, APS, forecasting, inventory, and planning tools to support a more integrated planning environment.
- Establish a reliable data foundation and common definitions across the organization.
- Develop dashboards and analytics that provide executives and operational leaders with actionable visibility into supply chain performance.
- Evaluate opportunities to leverage automation, advanced analytics, AI, and predictive planning capabilities where they can deliver meaningful business value.
- Ensure technology investments are tied to measurable improvements in business performance, not technology for technology’s sake.
Value Creation & Performance Management
- Translate supply chain initiatives into measurable financial and operational value.
- Establish a supply chain performance management framework with clear KPIs, targets, ownership, and accountability.
- Develop metrics for forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns, working capital, capacity utilization, schedule adherence, material availability, supplier performance, and planning effectiveness.
- Partner with Finance to quantify the financial impact of supply chain transformation initiatives.
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on progress against transformation objectives and value-creation commitments.
- Identify and prioritize initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and speed to value.
Organizational Leadership
- Design and build the organizational structure, capabilities, and talent required to support a world-class supply chain planning function.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing supply chain planning talent.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability across planning teams and business functions.
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
- Develop supply chain leaders and planners who can operate effectively in a more standardized, enterprise-wide environment.
- Lead organizational change effectively across legacy organizations and sites.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive supply chain experience.
- Proven experience leading a large supply chain planning organization of at least 20 planning professionals, including managers, demand planners, supply/material planners, and analysts.
- Proven experience leading supply chain transformation within a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly transforming S&OP/IBP processes.
- Strong experience across demand planning and forecasting, supply planning, production planning, material planning, inventory optimization, and capacity planning.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, MRP/ERP environments, and supply chain planning technology.
- Demonstrated ability to connect supply chain initiatives to EBITDA, working capital, cash flow, customer service, and other business outcomes.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams across multiple locations.
- Strong financial, analytical, and strategic capabilities.
