Role Description The Video Editor Assistant (HYBRID) role at The Cave Africa is a full-time position based in Lagos, with a blend of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role supports the production of video content that showcases The Cave’s community, events, and brand initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include organizing and managing raw footage, assisting in video editing, preparing simple motion graphics and visual assets, and supporting color grading under the guidance of senior editors. The Video Editor Assistant will collaborate with the marketing and content teams to adapt video assets for different platforms, maintain consistent brand visuals, and ensure timely delivery of projects. The role also involves occasional on-site support during shoots, coordinating with team members, and contributing ideas to improve visual storytelling.
Qualifications

• Proficiency in core video production processes, including handling cameras, audio, and basic lighting setups.
• Strong skills in video editing using industry-standard software, with the ability to cut, assemble, and refine content for multiple formats.
• Foundational ability in video color grading to ensure visual consistency and enhance overall image quality.
• Experience with motion graphics and graphics to create titles, lower thirds, simple animations, and branded visual elements.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with comfort working in a creative, community-focused environment.
• Basic understanding of social media and digital platforms where video content is published.
• Relevant coursework, certification, or practical experience in film, media, design, or a related field is an advantage.
