ABOUT GSD

At GSD, we are a healthcare solutions company built on the synergy of deep medical expertise and strategic operational excellence. Our mission is to simplify and optimize business operations for healthcare and business professionals through high-impact virtual private assistant services. We turn time-consuming tasks into efficient, scalable solutions so our clients can focus on delivering exceptional service to their patients and customers.

THE ROLE

You'll be the overnight imaging and documentation safety net for a growing regional health system in North Carolina: a hospital with a fully digital, accredited imaging department, a multispecialty medical group, and walk-in urgent care centers that take X-rays on site. While the day teams are off, you'll review after-hours imaging studies, document your findings, flag anything urgent for immediate follow-up, and confirm that the diagnosis and procedure codes on each imaging encounter match the records.

This role is built for a physician who is comfortable working independently overnight, reads images and medical codes with equal care, and communicates clearly in English and Spanish.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

๐Ÿฉป Overnight Imaging Review

โ€ข Review overnight and after-hours imaging studies, primarily X-ray from the urgent care centers (other modalities may be added)

โ€ข Document clear, structured findings and impressions in the EMR

โ€ข Compare your findings with the preliminary assessment from the visit and flag any discrepancy, such as a missed fracture, an infiltrate, or a foreign body

โ€ข Prioritize the most time-sensitive cases first

๐Ÿšจ Critical & Discrepant Findings

โ€ข Escalate critical or time-sensitive findings right away, following the health system's escalation protocol

โ€ข Document who was notified, when, and what was communicated, and follow up until it is acknowledged

โ€ข Support the next-morning patient follow-up process

๐Ÿงพ Medical Coding & Documentation Accuracy

โ€ข Review the ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes tied to each imaging encounter

โ€ข Check that codes match the documented findings and orders, and that diagnosis codes are specific enough, including laterality and encounter type

โ€ข Flag mismatches or missing documentation and recommend corrections to the billing and coding team

๐ŸŒŽ Bilingual Communication

โ€ข Write all documentation in English and communicate in Spanish when needed

โ€ข When the licensed provider directs it, relay provider-approved follow-up instructions to Spanish-speaking patients and families

๐Ÿ“Š Reporting & Quality

โ€ข Keep a nightly log of studies reviewed, findings flagged, and escalations made

โ€ข Send a short summary each morning before your shift ends

โ€ข Give feedback on image quality and support radiation-safety standards, including ACR accreditation requirements and Image Gently practices

โ€ข Help create and maintain SOPs for the overnight review process

โš–๏ธ SCOPE OF THE ROLE

Final interpretations and treatment decisions remain with the health system's licensed radiologist or treating provider of record. You do not give medical advice or prescribe to patients on your own.

โ€ข Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written

โ€ข Experience with digital X-ray or PACS viewers and EMR systems

โ€ข Adult and pediatric imaging experience, including fractures, chest studies, and emergency or trauma imaging

โ€ข Commitment to working Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Eastern Time, consistently and independently

โ€ข HIPAA certification, provided through GSD before your start date

โ€ข A private, HIPAA-compliant workspace, a diagnostic-quality monitor, and reliable internet with a backup connection
