What We Need
The Hong Kong Countryside Foundation Limited (HKCF) was established in 2011 to conserve and restore the countryside, habitats, natural landscapes, and cultural heritage of Hong Kong for the long-term public benefit.Under the revitalization initiatives supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, HKCF launched the “Hakka Life Experience Village @ Lai Chi Wo” (HLEV), restoring historic village houses into licensed accommodations and experiential learning bases. Our project offers guided eco-cultural tours, farming experiences, and traditional Hakka craftsmanship workshops in collaboration with local villagers and sustainable farming groups. This revamp project aims to make our digital presence as welcoming, accessible, and user-friendly as our village in Lai Chi Wo.

Why this is important
Lai Chi Wo is one of Hong Kong's most celebrated rural revitalization success stories. However, our current website setup makes it hard for the public—especially mobile users and English-speaking eco-tourists—to learn about our cultural heritage and book visits.By streamlining the website structure, completing bilingual information, and creating a direct online booking route, this project will:1. Make Hakka cultural heritage and eco-farming education accessible to a broader audience across Hong Kong and abroad.2. Directly increase bookings and participation for local village farmers and craftsmen, creating sustainable local economic opportunities that support ongoing village maintenance.3. Establish a modern, professional, and trustworthy public face for our rural conservation initiatives.
Project Period
01 Dec 2026 - 28 Feb 2027
Location
Remote (with optional virtual check-in meetings via Zoom/Google Meet; an optional orientation visit to Lai Chi Wo can also be arranged if interested)
