Role Description The Volunteer will support day-to-day activities at Sunshine Rehabilitation Welfare Center in a part-time, hybrid role based in New Karachi Town, with some tasks that can be completed from home. On-site responsibilities may include assisting staff with patient interaction and recreational activities, helping organize group sessions or workshops, and supporting vocational training programs such as basic computer skills or crafts. Volunteers may also help with administrative tasks, data entry, documentation, and coordination of outreach or awareness activities. Remote tasks can include preparing educational materials, drafting simple reports, managing basic communications, or supporting social media and community engagement efforts. The role involves working closely with the care team, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to a supportive, respectful environment for patients.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen empathetically and interact respectfully with individuals in recovery.
- Basic organizational and administrative skills, including record-keeping, scheduling support, and attention to detail.
- Comfort with basic computer use and digital tools, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and online communication platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and follow guidance from medical and counseling staff.
- Commitment to confidentiality, non-judgmental attitudes, and ethical volunteer conduct in a rehabilitation setting.
- Interest or background in social work, psychology, counseling, public health, or community service is beneficial but not required.
- Willingness to learn about addiction, rehabilitation processes, and trauma-informed approaches through training provided by the center.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage part-time hybrid volunteering hours in New Karachi Town and from home.
