The VP Product Management leads Product Management and Product Design across the enterprise, setting the product vision, operating model, governance practices, and cross-portfolio priorities that enable business units to deliver measurable customer and business outcomes. The role partners with business unit and functional leaders to align product investments to enterprise goals while supporting clear ownership, accountability, and execution across product portfolios.
The VP Product Management is strategically important to advancing the company’s transition from fragmented legacy systems, including 18 separate order management systems, toward a modern B2B2C platform that better serves customers and consumers. Through enterprise product leadership, this position helps unify commerce, data, and digital experiences across the organization to enable personalization at scale, connected customer journeys, and portfolio growth that increases lifetime order value.
This role serves as an organizational architect for product management, product design and product marketing by creating a shared product language, consistent planning rhythms, discovery and delivery standards, clear role expectations, and cross-functional ways of working that help teams move with clarity and accountability. The VP Product Management establishes product portfolio alignment, governance methods, prioritization frameworks, decision-making processes, and outcome-based measurement practices to guide investment trade-offs, resource alignment, product performance evaluation, dependency management, enterprise roadmap planning, and consistent execution across portfolios.
- Enterprise Product Strategy: Create a compelling enterprise product vision and translate company strategy, customer needs, market intelligence, business unit objectives, and long-term growth opportunities into clear product direction, portfolio priorities, investment recommendations, and measurable outcomes that improve profitability and enterprise success.
- Enterprise Governance & Prioritization: Establish enterprise governance practices, prioritization frameworks, and decision-making processes that evaluate product investments consistently across business units, balance competing stakeholder needs, align resources to strategic priorities, and ensure roadmap trade-offs are made with customer impact, business value, operational readiness, and long-term outcomes in mind.
- Product Operating Model: Serve as the organizational architect for product management by defining the enterprise operating model, planning rhythms, product standards, discovery and delivery practices, role clarity, and outcome measurement processes that help teams collaborate effectively, reduce silos, and scale consistent product practices across portfolios.
- Product Design Leadership: Champion enterprise-wide customer centricity by ensuring product discovery, design strategy, user research, experience standards, prototyping, testing, and customer feedback loops are embedded into product decisions and aligned to current and emerging customer needs across business units and portfolios.
- Talent & Organizational Leadership: Strategically deploy, coach, and develop product management and product design talent; maintain succession plans; create growth opportunities for future functional leaders; recognize contributions; and build a culture of accountability, experimentation, healthy debate, collaboration, and sustained performance through people.
- Executive Partnership & Cross-Portfolio Alignment: Partner with executive leadership, GM/SVP leaders, technology, marketing, sales, operations, finance, customer care, and external partners to create opportunities for cross-functional collaboration, draw out expertise across the organization, resolve enterprise-wide product challenges, align cross-portfolio dependencies, and gain support for decisions through inclusion and clear communication.
- Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.
- Clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities to enable individuals to proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions.
- Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis; conduct effective performance reviews; take corrective action whenever necessary and, where necessary, work with HR Generalists to establish performance improvement plans.
- Support the development of assigned personnel’s skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct (Jostens values) and work performance.
- Identify and resolve skill gaps and succession issues.
- Administer Company policies with regard to discipline, absenteeism, etc., in a fair and equitable manner, and fully document all incidents and actions taken.
- Involve assigned HR Generalist on compliance issues such as pay equity, equal opportunity in hiring and promotions, and proper procedures for hiring, terminations, lay-offs, etc.

- Demonstrated experience establishing product governance, prioritization frameworks, decision-making processes, roadmap alignment, dependency management, resource alignment, and outcome-based measurement practices across multiple business units or portfolios.
- Strong leadership capability, including the ability to serve as an organizational architect, leverage synergies across functions, break down silos, create opportunities for cross-functional collaboration, and gain support through inclusion, healthy debate, and clear communication.
- Experience strategically deploying, coaching, and developing product management and product design talent, maintaining succession plans, and developing future functional leaders.
- Enterprise-wide customer centricity, including the ability to champion customer needs, align organizational processes to anticipate current and emerging needs, and ensure product decisions are grounded in customer, market, operational, and financial insight.
