Website Content Assistant – Branch Opening Hours
Office Administration | Website Content | Remote | Full-time or part-time
£51,675–£55,575 per year for 37.5 full-time hours; part-time pro rata
Opening hours change for ordinary reasons: a public holiday, a temporary closure or a different schedule at one branch. Visitors should find the correct current information on the organisation’s website. This role checks approved hours against the relevant online pages, makes routine updates within the permissions given and flags anything unclear for the content owner. You would not decide whether a branch opens, invent holiday hours or publish an unapproved notice.
The source comes before the page
Suppose an operations colleague sends confirmed hours for three locations. You would identify which pages display each location, compare the current text with the approved schedule and update the assigned fields. One branch may have different weekend hours; copying a block of text across all three would be quick and wrong. After saving, view the public-facing page to make sure the day, time and location match the source. If another page still shows an older schedule, record the link and tell the content owner what remains to be updated.
An announcement may also include an effective date. A temporary closure should not replace the ordinary schedule indefinitely. You would follow the employer’s instructions for when a notice goes live and when it should come down. If the publishing tool does not support a future date, note the required action in the team’s tracker. Do not mark the task complete simply because a draft was prepared; check what the visitor can actually see once the update is authorised.
When the information conflicts
At times an email says one thing and a signed-off spreadsheet another. Ask which source is current before changing the website. If a staff member reports that the branch closed early but there is no approved customer notice, route that fact to the owner. The role does not require you to settle operational decisions. It requires you to make the inconsistency visible before a customer plans a visit using an incorrect page.
Customer service experience can help you think about how visitors read a page. A heading should clearly identify the location; a time written in an unfamiliar format can confuse a reader. You may correct an obvious layout issue within the employer’s permitted instructions, but larger wording or design changes belong to the content team. Keep office administration notes that identify the approved source, the pages checked and any outstanding location. A colleague should be able to repeat the check without searching through a private inbox.
The role is remote and computer-based. You would work in a home office with reliable access to online content tools, a shared tracker and approved source documents. Prior website publishing experience is helpful, but the company can teach its content system and review process. We are looking for someone who can compare dates carefully, follow a publishing instruction and notice when the visible result differs from the saved draft.
What an accurate finish looks like
The assigned branch page displays the authorised hours; any related notice reflects the right dates; and the tracker shows what was changed and what still needs review. A link to a map or contact page may also display hours. If it is within your assigned check, compare it; otherwise flag it for the owner. An apparently small discrepancy can send a customer to a closed location, so the final public view matters more than the fact that the edit button was clicked.
The pay range uses full-time annual hours. The hiring company will confirm the precise schedule and part-time calculation for a specific vacancy. This is an introductory website support position, with training available for someone who is careful with source information and willing to learn a publishing tool. You will not be expected to create a marketing strategy or manage a branch.
Apply for consideration
Tell us how you would check a change to hours across several branch pages. An example from an online project, volunteer task or everyday organisation is enough. Previous website administration experience is not required; the employer will teach its approval and content-checking process. The next stage may include completing an application on the hiring company’s website if you are selected.
