Working closely with project teams across major infrastructure projects, you'll contribute to risk management, assurance activities and incident investigations, while also supporting governance, planning, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

As a trusted WHS Advisor, you'll help implement and embed WHS frameworks, policies and procedures across rail operations and business activities. You'll support the delivery of safety initiatives and training, provide practical and pragmatic advice to stakeholders, and help ensure compliance with WHS legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

Duties & responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Assurance & Compliance: Delivering assurance and compliance activities across NSW Rail operations, including implementation of the WHS assurance plan, and conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments to support continuous improvement
  • Risk Management Support: Partnering with stakeholders to identify, assess, and managing critical risks
  • Ad Hoc & Emerging Priorities: Providing responsive support for emerging safety matters, including incident investigations, management of urgent risks, and timely WHS advice to stakeholders.

  • A relevant professional qualification and/or certification in Work Health & Safety
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management principles, and safety systems within an operational or rail environment
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, build relationships, and drive positive safety outcomes
  • A proactive, energetic approach and genuine passion for improving safety performance

This is a permanent role. As part of operational requirements, travelling to different site locations will be required.

You may also work from home a couple of days a week.
