About the role
As a Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in how safety and wellbeing are experienced across the NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA). Partnering closely with leaders and staff, you’ll provide practical, trusted WHS advice, manage incident and audit processes, and support a strong culture of safety and risk awareness
This role sits within the People and Culture team and is at the intersection of strategy and operations. As the Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you will contribute to the development and delivery of work health and safety programs, initiatives, and strategies that promote employee safety, welfare, and wellbeing. From embedding best practice to analysing risk and influencing behaviours, your work will have a visible and meaningful impact.
About You
You’re an experienced WHS professional who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to engage, influence and build trust. You’re comfortable navigating complexity and know how to translate legislation and systems into practical solutions that work on the ground. You bring:

Demonstrated experience providing expert WHS advice and implementing safety and wellbeing initiatives in complex or operational environments.

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build productive relationships across diverse teams.

Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, standards, incident management, and risk mitigation practices.
-
Proven ability to manage projects, analyse data and performance metrics, and deliver quality outcomes within competing priorities and deadlines.

Well-developed writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear WHS documentation, reports, tools and guidance
Essential Requirements
-
Tertiary qualifications in occupational health and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field
-
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and Australian and international standards and experience in providing expert WHS advice and support within high risk operational teams and environments.

An ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation and executive agency of the Premier’s Department, that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government.
