Job Summary

We are looking for a consultant to lead and support the design, configuration, integration, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Workday Financials and related finance applications. This role partners with Finance, Accounting, Technology, clients, and third-party vendors to translate business needs into practical system solutions; guide workstreams through requirements, design, testing, training, deployment, and support; and maintain reliable, secure, and high-quality financial data and processes. The consultant also provides advanced application support, manages incidents and upgrades, identifies automation opportunities, and helps improve delivery methods, documentation, and governance.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

  • Lead Workday Financials workstreams and support full lifecycle implementations, including discovery, requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, prototyping, testing, deployment, user training, and support transition.
  • Design and oversee integrations between Workday and internal or third-party applications using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), and other appropriate integration tools.
  • Analyze complex finance and accounting business needs and develop scalable solutions across areas such as Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash.
  • Create clear requirements, design documents, process flows, test scenarios, use cases, training materials, system user guides, policies, and support procedures.
  • Coordinate project schedules, priorities, resources, risks, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure work is completed on time and meets quality expectations.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Technology, clients, global resources, and third-party vendors to achieve shared project and operational objectives.
  • Provide advanced application support, troubleshoot user and system issues, manage incidents and escalations, and coordinate resolution with appropriate technology teams.
  • Plan, test, implement, and communicate Workday and third-party cloud application upgrades and enhancements.
  • Monitor and support financial data integrity, system availability, security, and compliance with applicable technology controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, artificial intelligence tools, and integrations that improve efficiency, accuracy, and the user experience.
  • Track service and performance metrics, solicit stakeholder feedback, and recommend improvements to systems, processes, governance, and delivery methodology.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members and junior staff, and escalate risks with recommended technical or functional alternatives.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; or eight years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of consulting or industry experience in Workday Financials or the ERP finance domain.
  • Two or more years of experience leading Workday Financials workstreams or project teams.
  • Experience with at least one full lifecycle Workday Financials implementation.
  • Demonstrated functional knowledge of financial systems and processes, including experience in one or more of the following areas: Record to Report, Procure to Pay, or Order to Cash.
  • Experience defining system strategy and requirements, designing and prototyping solutions, executing testing, delivering training, establishing support procedures, and implementing business solutions under multiple deadlines.
  • Workday Financials Professional certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon joining (6 months).
  • Experience with SQL is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%, based on client and business needs (at least one week a quarter and up to one week a month.

Salary Range for Phoenix: $100,000 - $125,000
