Z Session Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly capable Z/OS Session Technical Lead for one of our clients. The candidate will be responsible for leading technical requirements validation, solution design development, providing technical direction on conversion and deployment execution, providing input on testing, and delivering training on IBM Tools. This is a 12 months contract engagement.

The role will be a combination of remote/hybrid engagement for an Australian Citizen, with an active Baseline or even better NV1 Government clearance OR ability to obtain. The role can be based in any capital city in Australia, but some travel to the end Customer site in Canberra may be required from time to time over the course of the engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review client's use cases
2. Hold technical requirements validation for planning ISV replacement and implementing the IBM Z Session solution
3. Solution Design development
4. Provide guidance on testing approach
5. Technical input to Risk and Compliance Management
6. Input into the Implementation Plan, focus on the Production cut-over (impact to people, process and technology)
7. Post-Implementation Review
8. Reporting and Metrics

Mandatory skills required:

• Skills and experience in leading Z Session conversion
• Thorough understanding of CA/Broadcom SOLVE:Access product
• IBM Session manager product end-to-end
• Where possible, be able to translate ISV software functions to CL/SuperSession solutions
• Know the various ways to select a session in CL/SuperSession
• Know purpose and use of CL/SuperSession trigger phrases
• Know purpose of each of the CL/SuperSession libraries
• Working knowledge of JCL and z/OS
• Know how to install CL/SuperSession and perform the IVP process
• Know how to navigate the administrator dialogs
• Know how to change a user's trigger phrases/keys
• Understand all the CL/SuperSession commands
• Understand CL/SuperSession interfaces with VTAM
• Know how to create new user and session definitions
• Understand how to perform the various functions on the administrator's dialog panels
• Extensive knowledge of the CL/SuperSession SSPL programming language, SSPL dialog creation.
• Provide guidance and technical direction on data collection and integration requirements
• Provide targeted training and knowledge transfer
• Skills and experience using Jira and ServiceNow

Preferred skills:

• Experience with IBM Z software products
• Microsoft Office (Word, PPT) certification
• Experience doing application development on IBM Z, including programming languages like Cobol or PL/1 is a plus
