What does this team do?

The technology landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace, transforming how organisations operate and compete. In the context of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), technology presents both significant opportunities and substantial risks.

Deloitte's M&A Technology team – part of the wider Deal Transformation & Post Merger Integration (DT&PMI) team – helps buyers and sellers identify, protect, and unlock the full value of technology and digital assets throughout the transactions process. We support clients through complex technological challenges, enabling informed decision-making and successful negotiations.

What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2027 for the Autumn 2027 intake.

What kind of work will I do?

Deloitte's M&A Technology team plays a critical role in today's M&A advisory landscape, including providing in-depth due diligence on technology, AI, IT functions, and cybersecurity—essential elements in every deal.

You will work with clients to help them deliver their strategic M&A objectives wherever technology is involved. You will advise stakeholders of the role of technology in executing deals and delivering value across mergers, acquisitions, divestments and performance improvement initiatives.

Your role will allow you to work across a range of sectors, with professionals from across the M&A business, as well as the rest of the Deloitte. You will gain experience of the whole deal life cycle and the impact of technology on business performance through developing a rounded understanding of all technology domains.

Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you’re in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

All our workspaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team.

How will I develop?

During your first few weeks with the firm, you will receive training that has been designed to cover the core components of the work the team delivers for clients. Our ambition is to support our people to achieve their personal and professional goals by providing access to a wide range of quality learning materials and opportunities.

As a new member of the team, you are empowered to become part of a client project and begin understanding and solving complex problems. We will provide support and ongoing training to allow you to learn how to handle confidential information, deliver quality work, and help build and maintain relationships with key clients.
