From sea to sky, from Norway to the world.

At Noemi Aerospace, we’re building the future of coastal mobility through Noemi, the world’s first fully electric seaplane. Our versatile, 9-passenger electric seaplanes can also move up to one tonne of cargo - quietly and with zero emissions. City harbor to city harbor? Easy. We’re amphibious too, requiring only short distances for takeoff and landing at traditional airports.

Noemi Aerospace is a growing startup with a multinational team of 30+ passionate employees. We offer an informal, playful, and dynamic work atmosphere where your voice truly matters and the days fly by.

We will make sure you receive a warm welcome and full support settling in with our team at Torp Airport, Sandefjord.

About the position:

We are looking for a skilled Aircraft Mechanical Technician to lead and support the mechanical integration, structural assembly, and flight-test preparation of our electric amphibious seaplane.

In this role, you will work hands-on with lightweight composite airframes, flight control systems, retractable landing gear, hull landing mechanisms, and electric propulsion installations. You will collaborate directly with our design engineering team to turn CAD models and technical drawings into airworthy prototype hardware.

Main responsibilities:

  • Airframe & Structural Assembly: Assemble, fit and align primary/secondary composite airframe structures, metallic fittings, and hull components.

  • Mechanical Systems Integration: Install, inspect and rig flight control systems, hydraulic/actuation systems, amphibious landing gear, and electric propulsion units (electric motors/thrusters).

  • Composite Work & Repairs: Perform surface preparation, minor composite repairs, bonding, structural fastenings, and sealing suited for marine and amphibious operations.

  • Ground & Flight-Test Support: Prepare aircraft for ground testing, taxying, and flight trials; execute pre-flight/post-flight inspections and maintenance checks.

  • Troubleshooting & Modification: Perform hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical and flight control anomalies, suggesting design improvements back to the engineering team.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Execute tasks in strict accordance with engineering drawings, Process Specifications, and EASA Part-21 (G/J) or Part-145 quality standards.

Your profile:

Required Qualifications:

  • Norwegian vocational qualification (Fagbrev i flymekanikerfaget, strukturfaget eller komposittfaget), or equivalent foreign vocational qualification - or an EASA Part-66 Category B1.1 / B1.2 / Category A license (or equivalent military/prototype airframe assembly experience).

  • 3+ years of practical experience in aircraft mechanical assembly, airframe maintenance or prototype integration.

  • Strong background working with carbon-fiber/composite airframe structures and marine/amphibious aircraft requirements.

  • Proficient in reading engineering assembly drawings, tolerances, structural blueprints and technical manuals.

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal). Norwegian language skills are a plus.

  • Self-driven, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a dynamic startup hangar environment.

  • Caring, flexible, awesome

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on amphibious aircraft, floatplanes, or marine-environment structures (corrosion protection, water sealing).

  • Experience with mechanical flight control rigging and electric powertrain/motor mechanical mounting.

  • Exposure to prototype build environments, experimental flight-testing, or EASA CS-23 certification processes.

We offer:

  • Impact: A hands-on role building the world’s first fully electric seaplane from the ground-and sea-up.

  • Culture: An informal, collaborative and passionate team of world-class engineers and aircraft builders.

  • Compensation & Benefits: Stock option plan, flexible working practices and competitive benefits.

  • Relocation Support: Full onboarding and assistance for international applicants relocating to Norway.

Location & Application

  • Workplace: Torp Airport in Sandefjord -located on Norway's southeast coastline, known for its mild winters and vibrant summer life.

  • Process: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Noemi Aerospace is an equal opportunity employer. We foster an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences thrive. Every applicant receives fair and equal consideration.
