Our summer internship is designed for a small number of high-potential students each year, combining structured training with practical exposure. Programme details Location: Amsterdam Programme dates: 21st June – 20th August 2027 Application deadline: 21st October 2026 Join a structured nine-week internship, giving you a practical introduction to options market making. The programme starts in our London office, with three weeks of interactive options theory classes led by one of our traders. You’ll then return to Amsterdam, quickly progressing into trading simulation and mock trading, helping you build the foundations you need to become a trader. You’ll also gain exposure to different desks through shadowing and project work. Throughout the internship, you’ll be assessed on your performance and development. Successful interns may be considered for our Graduate Trader Programme the following year. What you will be doing Build practical trading skills in our simulation environment, applying your learning to real market scenarios Use the same tools as our traders - or build your own - and observe the same trades being executed in the live market Learn directly from traders across different desks through shadowing and regular interaction, with opportunities to ask questions and understand their day-to-day approach Take part in a dedicated Reading Week, working independently on a project and exploring an area of interest How and what you will learn Build your foundations in options market making - we don’t expect prior knowledge Develop your understanding of options theory, pricing, probability and risk with Maven’s in-house trainers Apply your knowledge through trading simulation, testing different strategies, learning from experience and building confidence as a trader Develop your understanding of the wider market through macroeconomics and technical training Progress through clear learning milestones, with ongoing feedback from the Trading and Emerging Talent teams Who you are Key criteria A penultimate-year undergraduate or master’s student Strong numeracy skills and a good understanding of probability and statistics A genuine interest in financial markets and a curiosity to learn A willingness to adopt and utilise emerging AI technologies We’re looking for someone who is An entrepreneurial thinker who takes the initiative to generate ideas that further your learning and improve existing tools or systems A critical problem solver and decision-maker who analyses situations and makes effective decisions An agile learner who quickly acquires knowledge, responds to feedback and adapts to new situations Able to synthesise information and turn complex or conflicting inputs into clear, actionable insights and decisions Collaborative and influential , able to build trust, share what you have learned and work effectively with others Results-focused and accountable , comfortable taking ownership and making decisions in the face of uncertainty and with incomplete information Why Maven?
