Our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) is a state-of-the-art emergency psychiatry service. The CPEP provides a spectrum of multidisciplinary services designed to meet the needs of our diverse clientele in the most effective and least restrictive manner possible. Our 11,000 square-foot modern service includes separate pediatric and adult waiting areas, patient interview rooms, a patient holding area, and six extended observation beds. The Jacobi CPEP has approximately 700 registrations per month and has an embedded Mobile Crisis Team that makes up to 75 visits per month. Because the Behavioral Healthcare Services Department of Jacobi has large Inpatient, Outpatient, and Addiction Services, the patients evaluated in our CPEP are mostly then treated within our continuum of care. Opportunity Details: The CPEP Associate Director will be responsible for following duties under the direct supervision of the Medical Director of CPEP. Direct supervision of attending psychiatrists, psychologists and psychiatric PA staff, residents, medical students, psychology interns. Oversee the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care. Directly work with leaders in the other areas of the Department including both inpatient and ambulatory programs, as well as the Emergency Medicine Department. Assume an important role in Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness. Provide leadership in undergraduate medical education including active participation in the clinical and didactic teaching of medical students and graduate medical education of residents. Incident review management and participation in departmental IRC meetings. Review/revise guidelines for standards of care ensuring that CPEP meets the OMH regulations. Provide leadership for all tours. Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Active New York State Medical License. 2-3 years of experience preferred. Wages and Benefits include: Annual Base Salary: $296,000* based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $365,600** , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below: Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
