About The Company
CVector’s mission is to bring real-time economic optimization and AI prediction to every energy and manufacturing plant. Recognized twice by TechCrunch, CVector addresses the critical challenge faced by industrial facilities: making minute-by-minute decisions that impact cost, reliability, and margin. The complexity arises because the relevant signals exist in different domains—live asset constraints and process realities on one side, and feedstock prices, product prices, demand, and market dynamics on the other. CVector integrates these disparate data sources into a unified decision layer that continuously forecasts upcoming conditions, simulates potential scenarios, and optimizes next actions. This enables plants to operate closer to their true economic potential every day. The company operates across the United States, implementing real-world systems in demanding industrial environments.
This position offers flexibility with options for hybrid or fully remote work. Employees based in New York City may work from the company’s office with a flexible in-person schedule, while those located elsewhere in the US will collaborate with a hybrid team. The role requires travel approximately 10-15% of the time to customer sites.
About The Role
As a Principal Software Engineer with a focus on Backend and AI Infrastructure, you will be instrumental in advancing CVector’s core backend platform. Your work will center on time-series data systems, AI-assisted analytics, cloud infrastructure, and data ingestion pipelines that support both customer-facing applications and internal modeling platforms.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working closely with data and infrastructure layers, possesses strong architectural judgment, and is passionate about operating across AI systems, databases, and distributed backend services. You will be responsible for owning complex systems, leading major technical migrations, and shaping the integration of intelligence into industrial energy workflows.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, modeling experts, and frontend engineers. Your contributions will significantly influence platform direction, system reliability, and long-term scalability.
