Bilingual Tutor / Governess in Doha (Qatar) & Al Ain (UAE)

We are seeking 2 full-time bilingual tutors / governesses with spotless English in addition to another European language. The positions are for 2 branches of the same family: one position is based in Doha (Qatar) and the other position is based in beautiful Al Ain (UAE).

It is imperative that the candidates qualified from a prestigious university or business school that is recognized worldwide, as the parents request their tutors / governesses to have attended these kinds of institutions to be valuable role models to surround their children with. The families want to raise their children bilingual and are open regarding the other European languages, as long as the English language is absolutely superbly mastered.

The candidates must have at least 5 years' experience working in fully-staffed households (the families are non-specific as to the countries where you had your experience from).

The children are a boy aged 5 for the Doha role. For the UAE-based role, there is a set of twin girls aged 4 with a brother aged 7. The children are inquisitive and gregarious, but the eldest boy is quite shy. The job holders should be kind, open-minded and also to be able to bring educational structure and insight to these private households and get the children to develop a love for learning through play.

The tutors / governesses are expected to research and set up activities for the children whilst they are at school. The roles are children-centered with no nursery duties as there are local nannies already in place to help.

The parents don't expect you to work more than 40 hours per week when in the Middle East, but you must be flexible and happy to work longer hours when the families do travel overseas during the school holiday breaks. The families would like you to be a team player. The work schedule is 5 days a week, with 2 days off for the position in Qatar (Fridays & Saturdays). The UAE having recently adopted Saturday-Sunday weekends, your days off will fall onto these days.

Positions start after the summer holiday, by early September 2022. Interviewing now and / or over the summer holiday, but both families are happy to wait for the right candidates fitting their requirements. Salary is from £ 1200+ / week to be discussed according to your experience.

The positions come with a separate apartment and transport will be arranged by the employers on and off duty. Health insurance, 2 return tickets per year (holiday when fits the employers), yearly bonus upon results. The families would like the tutors to commit for a least one 1 year.

Requirements

• Degree(s) from a very prestigious university or business school recognized worldwide. Certificates shall not suffice.
  
• 5+ years' experience working with children of this age range.
  
• Being fully bilingual.
  
• Outstanding English-speaking skills superbly standing out against peers.
  
• An additional foreign language, craftily mastered.
  
• Proven experience working in fully-staffed homes.
  
• Being a team player.
  
• Supervising nannies.
  
• Willing to travel during the school holidays.
  
• Being resourceful and forward-thinking.
  
• Not being fazed by last-minute arrangements.
  
• Sea legs, comfortable on yachts.
  
• Happy to commit for a minimum of one year or on a longer term in Doha or in Al Ain.
