Is this job info correct?
NHS Forth Valley is seeking to recruit three permanent Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialists to support the delivery of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services across both Tier 3 and Tier 4. These posts offer an opportunity to work across closely connected areas of CAMHS, providing specialist assessment, intervention and care to children and young people with a range of moderate, severe, acute and complex mental health needs.

About CAMHS Tier 4

iCAMHS provides urgent, crisis and intensive mental health support to children and young people aged 0–18 who present with acute or complex mental health difficulties. The service undertakes same-day emergency assessments, urgent follow-up and intensive community-based interventions, often as an alternative to hospital admission. The team also delivers highly specialist interventions and works closely with families and partner agencies.

About CAMHS Tier 3

Core CAMHS provides multidisciplinary assessment and evidence-based interventions for children and young people aged 0–18 who experience moderate to severe mental health difficulties, including those with co-occurring neurodevelopmental presentations. The service uses the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) and works closely with iCAMHS through established joint-working arrangements.

About The Role

The post holders will deliver responsive, high-quality care across settings including clinics, family homes, schools and inpatient environments. Working within an experienced multidisciplinary team, they will contribute specialist nursing assessment, formulation, risk assessment, care planning and evidence-based intervention. They will work within established clinical governance arrangements and comply with professional, regulatory and NHS standards.

Professional Support and Development

Our nurses receive regular clinical supervision, supportive line management and structured job planning. Staff are supported to develop an area of specialist clinical interest or expertise and will complete a role-specific induction. CAMHS also provides a varied in-house clinical CPD programme and maintains strong links with national professional bodies and training providers.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must hold a nursing degree, have current professional registration and demonstrate substantial experience of working with children and young people or within a related specialist health service. They should be able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and manage complex clinical presentations.

Working Hours

The service operates Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00. Successful candidates will initially work within these core hours; however, future development of the service may require post holders to work outside these hours.

For Informal Enquiries Please Contact

Martyn Souter, Lead Nurse for CAMHS: martyn.souter@nhs.scot or 01324 610846 or Emma McEwen, Team Leader for CAMHS: emma.mcewen@nhs.scot or 01324 610846

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk

Certificate of Sponsorship

Applicants who require sponsorship to work in the UK are advised to carefully review the eligibility criteria for the Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa routes. NHS Forth Valley may be able to offer sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and any other required criteria. If you are currently working in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa, transitional arrangements may apply. Please note that sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis following interview and at the commencement of pre-employment checks. For further information on visa requirements and sponsorship eligibility, please refer to the UK Government guidance.

It is also recommend that anyone applying for health and social care jobs in the UK from abroad read the following guidance: Applying for health and social care jobs in the UK from abroad - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Candidates should provide original and authentic responses to all questions within the application form. The use of artificial intelligence (AI), automated tools, or other third-party assistance to generate, draft, or significantly modify responses is strongly discouraged. By submitting your application, you confirm that all answers are your own work, reflect your personal knowledge, skills and experience, and have not been solely produced or altered by AI or similar technologies. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in your application being withdrawn from the application process.

Please note that the majority of correspondence is sent by e-mail, therefore please check your e-mail regularly (including junk folders) and your Jobtrain account for updates.
