Who is GrayMatter
We’re the Thinkers who make machines speak.

And that’s where you come in.
GrayMatter is dedicated to creating a team of unmatched talent in industrial technology. Our organizational culture encourages opportunities to learn and collaborate. Six core values make Team GrayMatter stand above the rest: Bias to Action, Batteries Included, Unbounded Curiosity, Everybody Wins, Built to Last, Actionable Insight.
We are seeking a Control Systems Design/Construction Administrator to support GrayMatter’s multi-year water and wastewater capital program in South Florida. This technical documentation and administration role will organize field records across two treatment plants and a well field, supporting design review, pre-construction, construction, transition to operations, and warranty services. The role works closely with the senior control systems design engineer and electrical review team. It is not an engineering or traditional project-management position.
Location and Schedule: On-site in South Florida at the county’s water treatment plants and well field. The design and pre-construction phase is expected to require approximately 30–50% on-site work for the first 18 months. During the construction phase, approximately 80–90% on-site work is expected as field activity increases across the three project components. Local candidates are preferred; relocation or extended travel should be expected. Relocation assistance may be provided for the successful candidate.
General Job Duties:
  • Receive, organize, and compile field documentation, including photos, drawings, redlines, figures, and notes, into a complete and accessible project record.
  • Manage drawing revisions and version control for the well field and both water treatment plants.
  • Enter and maintain records in the program’s designated documentation and reporting system.
  • Coordinate with the senior control systems design engineer and electrical review team to track open items, clarify field documentation, and keep records current.
  • Prepare and maintain progress reports and status updates for program stakeholders.
  • Promote consistent, complete, and well-organized reporting across multiple sites and project components.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Needed:
Required:
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with close attention to detail across large volumes of technical documentation.
  • Ability to review field materials such as drawings, photos, and markups to identify what is complete and what is missing; an engineering background is not required.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to turn field input into clear, organized records and reports.
  • Ability to learn documentation and collaboration platforms as the program’s tools are finalized.
  • Ability to work closely and communicate regularly with engineering and electrical staff.
Preferred:
  • Experience as a construction administrator, project-controls coordinator, or documentation lead on a construction or capital program.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation platforms such as Procore or SharePoint.
Position Details:
Full-time, multi-year assignment, anticipated at five years with the potential to extend to six years. Target start is November 2026, with onboarding and process setup beginning immediately and full engagement expected by December 2026. Reports to the Florida Team Leader or Operations Manager.
Featured Benefits:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance starting day one
  • Employer-paid short-term disability and life insurance
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match
  • Paid holidays and time off
