Cross Commodity Options Broker

We are now looking for a Cross Commodity Options Broker to join our derivatives broking team in Dubai. This role suits someone with one to two years’ experience in commodity options broking or trading.

Job description:

You will join SSY’s derivatives team in Dubai, working alongside senior brokers to price and broke options across a range of commodity markets, including wet and dry freight, iron ore, steel and battery metals. The role starts in a supporting capacity, giving you the chance to grow into the market, take on more responsibility over time and build your own client relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Producing and circulating options pricing runs across all of our products, including wet and dry freight FFAs, iron ore and battery metals.
• Liaising with clients throughout the day to make sure prices remain firm and current.
• Updating volatility surfaces with the latest working markets.
• Supporting the senior brokers on the desk so they have the data they need when markets move.
• Building and maintaining client relationships alongside the SSY Derivatives team, including client entertaining.
• Finding new business by identifying and speaking to new prospects.
• Travelling to industry conferences and other business-relevant events.
• Handling confidential and market-sensitive information with discretion.

Skills required:

• A minimum of one to two years’ experience in commodity options broking or trading.
• Derivatives experience in at least one of the following: base metals, battery metals, dry freight, iron ore, precious metals, steel or wet freight.
• An undergraduate degree in Mathematics or a related numerate subject is preferred.
• Strong numerical ability and confidence working with pricing and volatility.
• Clear, confident communication with clients, in writing and over the phone.
• The ability to stay calm and accurate in fast-moving markets.
• A proactive, commercial approach and the drive to build your own client base.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences and events.

We are happy to assist with relocation to Dubai for the right candidate, and the salary package is competitive and negotiable depending on experience.
