Early-Career Backend Engineer

About the Role

Join a small engineering team at a healthcare AI software company building backend systems that automate administrative clinical workflows. You will help develop AI-enabled infrastructure that supports faster access to care while processing sensitive clinical information securely and reliably.

What You'll Do

• Architect and deploy backend systems that process high-volume data through APIs.

• Develop agentic infrastructure to support customer onboarding and clinical workflow automation.

• Integrate customer feedback into product iterations from planning through delivery.

• Own critical backend infrastructure and guide its technical evolution.

• Scale systems to support growth while maintaining security and reliability.

What We're Looking For

• At least five years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical role, with shipped production software or systems.

• Zero to one years of professional backend software development experience.

• Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one other major programming or systems language.

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.

• Understanding of prompt engineering and a strong record of meaningful GitHub contributions.

• Currently employed in a role at an established company, with an interest in building impactful healthcare products.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $120,000 to $250,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in Los Angeles, California.
