Engineering Director, Agent Context

About the Role

Lead the engineering organization building an AI context platform for data-intensive analytical work. You will guide multiple teams developing tools that help users understand, evaluate, and improve how AI agents work with business data.

What You'll Do

• Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for the context platform and its development lifecycle.

• Manage and support engineering managers, technical leads, and senior individual contributors, setting a high bar and helping them do their best work.

• Recruit and grow the engineering organization, with a focus on building a team of at least 15 software engineers.

• Set technical strategy, review designs, and contribute hands-on when it can make a meaningful difference.

• Guide teams as they investigate agent reasoning failures, organize business context, and balance human feedback with automated improvement.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years leading engineering teams on complex, data-intensive, or AI-driven SaaS products.

• Experience managing engineering managers and scaling teams of approximately 12 to 40 engineers.

• Recent experience leading the development of an AI agent product, along with a balance of people leadership and hands-on technical work.

• Comfort coding in TypeScript or Python. Experience with technologies such as React, GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, Kubernetes, and AWS is relevant.

• Background in a high-growth startup and a technical product organization, with strong curiosity about AI agent behavior and context systems.

• A computer science or equivalent technical degree, or comparable technical foundations.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range is $262,000 to $348,500 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

Hybrid, based in New York, New York. The role works in the office two days per week.
