About us
Since 2015, Global United Trading has shipped genuine and performance Japanese car parts to enthusiasts in 100+ countries. Our customers recommend us because we answer quickly, know the parts, and fix problems when they happen. Our customer support team, with members from 5 countries, is growing, and we need more people who love cars and love helping customers.
What you'll do
• Answer customer questions in English by email, chat and marketplace messages, about 30 new tickets a day per person, covering order status, fitment and stock availability.
• Resolve order problems (delays, damage, wrong parts) from first contact to solution, working with our Purchasing, Shipping and IT teams.
• Track shipments and follow up with couriers in English, with support from Japanese-speaking colleagues.
• Keep accurate records in Zendesk and our internal order system.
• Suggest improvements to our support process. You'll see what customers need before anyone else.
What you'll need
• Native or business-level English, especially clear, friendly writing.
• Working knowledge of Japanese car models and parts (e.g. chassis codes, OEM vs. aftermarket, checking fitment).
• 1+ year of customer service experience, or strong motivation if you're new to the field.
• Basic Japanese (around JLPT N4–N5). Day-to-day work is in English; Japanese helps when chatting with Japanese colleagues.
• A bachelor's degree.
• The right to work in Japan, or eligibility for visa sponsorship, which we provide for the right candidate.
Nice to have
• Another language (e.g. Spanish, Russian, Arabic, French).
• Experience in e-commerce, international shipping or at a parts counter.
Salary and terms
• ¥3.24M–4.2M a year (¥270,000–350,000/month), based on experience.
• 1-year fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance.
• Strong performers can move to permanent employment at or before the 1-year mark, with a yearly bonus added once permanent.
• 3-month trial period at the same salary and conditions.
• Work location: Ebina office, no relocation.
• Duties: customer support and related operations.
Hours and time off
• Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:00 (1-hour break). Overtime work is paid.
• Weekends and Japanese national holidays off: 120 days off a year.
• 10 days of paid leave after 6 months, increasing with tenure, in line with the Labor Standards Act.
Benefits
• Commuting allowance up to ¥30,000/month.
• Full social insurance (health, pension, employment, workers' compensation).
• Staff discount on parts.
• Casual dress.
Location
About 8 minutes' walk from Ebina Station (Odakyu and Sotetsu Lines), or 10 minutes from the JR Sagami Line side. Roughly 50 minutes from Shinjuku.
Hiring process
CV review → online interview → on-site interview with a short written support test. We aim to decide within 3 weeks.
