About the Role
Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team as its founding AI engineer, building the core of a real-time voice agent that conducts sales conversations, demonstrates products in a browser, and follows up with prospects. You will lead the agent's technical direction and help shape its next capabilities.
What You'll Do
Build the agent's reasoning, tool use, memory, and ability to recover when live conversations go off script while meeting strict latency requirements.
Develop evaluation pipelines and use real sales-call data to drive measurable improvements, including fine-tuning where useful.
Improve the reliability of browser-based product demonstrations conducted during live calls.
Ship end-to-end product work using TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
Work directly with customers and design partners to shape the product and guide decisions about models, architecture, and build-versus-buy tradeoffs.
What We're Looking For
Four to seven years of experience as an AI engineer, including at least one year working with real-time or voice AI systems.
Experience shipping AI agents to production and owning the workflow, including evaluations, observability, and cost optimization.
Hands-on experience with voice AI, real-time applications, browser automation, or AI sales products.
Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js; familiarity with WebRTC, LiveKit, Playwright, LLM APIs, and agent evaluation methods is relevant.
A CS degree or another technical background, such as mathematics, physics, or engineering.
Customer-facing engineering, design partner collaboration, sales technology, or startup experience is valuable.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site in New York, New York, United States. Candidates must be based in New York or able to relocate from day one.
