About the Role
Join an early-stage cybersecurity startup as a founding engineer building systems to help enterprises monitor and secure their use of AI. You will work across backend infrastructure, detection, and applied machine learning, with direct input into the platform's architecture and technical direction.
What You'll Do
Own features end to end, from design through production deployment with enterprise customers.
Build data infrastructure to ingest high-volume telemetry from endpoint, network, identity, and model systems.
Design real-time detection and policy enforcement for emerging AI agent risks.
Work directly with customers during evaluations and deployments, adapting features to their needs.
Train small models to make low-latency judgments based on behavioral baselines.
Test models and agents for issues such as prompt injection, tool misuse, data exposure, and scope drift.
Help shape the platform's architecture and technical direction.
What We're Looking For
0 to 5 years of software engineering experience, including internships, with experience building backend or full-stack systems.
Strong backend and systems fundamentals, including distributed systems, infrastructure, or streaming data pipelines.
Experience shipping production software and working effectively in an early-stage environment.
Familiarity with Go, Rust, cloud infrastructure, real-time data systems, or security integrations.
Helpful experience includes applied machine learning, model fine-tuning, security engineering, red teaming, customer-facing engineering, or quantitative problem-solving.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary is $160,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site in San Francisco, California, United States.
