Founding Senior Engineer

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI commerce startup as its second engineer. You will build a growth platform for consumer brands, owning core engineering work while helping shape the team's architecture and engineering culture.

What You'll Do

• Build data infrastructure that tracks merchant lifecycle events and connects actions to outcomes.

• Develop an agentic growth system that assesses operations, identifies opportunities, and executes changes automatically.

• Own full-stack development of the growth engine, with a focus on backend systems and infrastructure.

• Build reliable integrations with commerce, advertising, and marketing platforms, along with orchestration tooling.

• Stay hands-on with daily engineering while mentoring other engineers and helping establish technical direction.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of engineering experience, with 5 to 8 years reflecting the target experience range.

• Production experience building and owning agentic or LLM-powered systems, including integrations with third-party APIs.

• Full-stack engineering experience with a backend emphasis in data infrastructure, event systems, and API integrations.

• Experience leading or mentoring 1 to 2 engineers, such as in a tech lead or founding engineer role.

• Familiarity with commerce and marketing APIs, such as Shopify, advertising platforms, or email service providers.

• Experience building products from 0 to 1 in an early-stage environment, plus strong computer science or engineering fundamentals.

• Relevant technologies include Python, TypeScript, LLMs, and commerce and advertising APIs.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $175,000 to $225,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.
